unbridled joy? hmmm... probably very recently actually. Elder scrolls III: Morrowind is one of my favorite games and i recently got the GotY edition with both exspansions. Took a little Wrangling to get it working right, but once i was traversing the frozen wastes of solstheim i knew i was home again. Also reached pure serendipity last night, Got my second favorite weapon in the game (mace of Aevar Stone-Singer) quickly followed by my favorite weapon (Dwemer Warhammer of Wounds). The first may seem odd to an Expeirenced morrowind player but my very first playthrough I got that weapon in like the second dungeon i went in and used for about 90% of my playtime, Even Dagoth Ur felt it's wrath.

So for me Morrowind. Also any game that involves me crossings the fields(or ocean) of hyrule.

ThriKreen got me NWN for my birfmas, and I've been thoroughly enjoying Deekin the Kobold.
Like, having-a-puppy-in-your-lap joy.
"Deekin would often reminisce about Tymofarrar [His white dragon master] - one story told to the hero during Hordes of the Underdark was that Tymofarrar occasionally enjoyed changing into human form, walking into Hilltop and eating pie. " -NWN Wiki
He's like Wrex from Mass Effect in that inexplicable, reptilian charm.
Bioware must just have a gift for making awesome lizard men.
DOOOOOOOM DOOM DOOM DOOOOOOOOOOM ...

Ummm boss?

I love Deekin.

OT: I just replayed Season 1 of Sam and Max.

Super Meat Boy brings a lot of joy on success.

Minecraft: I am playing on the basis that if I die i delete my world and am having a ton of fun trying to survive all the random attacks and disasters. I recently fended off 2 creepers and 2 spiders and lived to tell the tale and when i got back to safety was overjoyed that i made it through that type of ambush.

About two hours ago when I discovered Fusion Spells in Persona 3. I don't think I'll ever get tired of watching those kids shoot themselves in the head.

Last week, played the entire Assassins Creed series straight through.
And about a month ago, played Romance of the Three Kingdoms 8 with some old friends.

Last time eh? Bioshock. The original. Today. Ah the memories. Nothing like stoving in a few heads with a pipe wrench to liven up your day. Especially in a game that has such a perfect atmosphere.

It was in just cause 2. I think It was two days ago. I've been doing schoolwork since. I stole a military chopper, tied a soldier to it. Ascended and starting spinning. He was flying in circles around me insanely fast. I released the cable and he flew off into the stratosphere team rocket style. I was laughing at that for about 2 straight minutes.
My favorite moment of Just Cause 2 was surfing on the nose of a plane, guns a blazing at an enemy chopper, only to smash into it, taking both aircraft to the ground in a fiery explosion, while I was thrown from the collision at 200 miles an hour, before deploying my parachute and hookshotting another chopper before hitting the ground.
That is seriously the best sandbox I've ever played.

Also, the first time I played minecraft was quite endorphic.
EDIT: OOH! I also remember the first time I played Half Life 2 after hearing about it from my brothers, and just being blown away by the atmosphere of it. It had a feeling forever afterwords that I just cannot describe properly.

Fucking all the time. I play good games like TF2, Sauerbraten, TMUF, etc. I play games for fun, and that's pretty much the only reason.

Prototype. I fucking love this game! I can pop it in intending to play for only an hour or so, and find myself simply entranced for hours on end just killing everything! Easily one of my favorite open-world games yet!

The Wager Matches in Black Ops. The tense fight to be in the money is loads of fun and the only reason I'm keeping Blops.

Well it was earlier today when I was playing LBP2 and doing some tutorials. Good ol' Stephen Fry and the MM writers. :)

But yeah, I experience joy quite a lot in gaming. If I'm not having any fun, I'm bored. And I mainly play to be entertained, so if a game is failing at that, it has to be something pretty special for me to not turn it off and go play something I'll find more enjoyment in.

People call me a nut who is lost in nostalgia because I don't like most modern games, but I had a great bit of joy with Shadow of the Colossus for the PS2 and Shadow Complex on XBL. I have played some decent games since then, but nothing that gave me true joy.

Just today I fired up MechWarrior 4 Mercs (I wish I could find 3, I like how 3 handled better) and enjoyed making a Razorback into a beast (ERPPC, Heavy Medium Laser, and 4 Machine Guns, it can take down Medium mechs pretty easily). Also I used a Vulture II to 1-shot a Behemoth by blasting it in the back with dual Clan Ultra AC-20s (so it technically wasn't a 1-shot, but close enough).
