I usually turn off my laptop every night, because I noticed that if I don't, it'll be buggy in the morning. But I've left a desktop (xp) on for over a week once...then the parents turned it off.
My storage computer has been on for two years minus a one week power outage, and three days to upgrade the drives at one point, It was on for 14 months after all was said and done and it was ready for use, until a storm knocked the power out for a week.
PC? Approximately 4 months is my record for no-restart. However, that's just a restart to flush the memory. Actually switching it off? Hasn't occurred since I built it about a year ago. Well, rebuilt, as I had to fit a new cooling fan.
I half Torrented something, took 3 days, crashed on about 70%. No, I didn't sit and watch as the progress bar increase bit by bit, but, yes maybe there was a small tear in my frustrated eye. That was a very difficult time for me... sniff
