The Warriors. Back when it came out it was massively intense. It sadly doesn't hold up to the movies now-a-days.

Well the last War of the Worlds I saw with Tom Cruise was bloody intense the whole way through, I reckon it was a pretty good adaption to an old film as well and worth a look at.

District 9 became very suspenseful after about 30 minutes into it but sudden action hero thing was a bit too silly for me.

Most emotionally intense would be About Schmidt. I could really relate to the main character, really got to me.

The Good, The Bad And The Ugly had one of the most intense suspense moments for me. Of course it was the graveyard scene, I was literally sitting on the edge of my seat, holding my breath.

Well I'll say Phone Booth. Just re-watched it yesterday, still got me grinding my teeth.

The most recent intense movie I saw was Waltz With Bashir. It's so powerful a one and a half hour movie feels twice as long.

Come and See. Watching a movie with a 14 year old boy crouching on the ground while live 7.92x57 rounds are fired two feet over his head will ruin any other movie. The fact that they used psychology to make him believe his entire family had been killed by Germans only helps the fucked upedness of the movie. Every other movie fails in comparison to it as far as emotional impact.

The Dark Knight. I was on the edge of my seat the entire time. That and District 9.

Ghost in the Shell had me on the edge of my seat for it's full 90 minute run time when I saw it at the Seattle premier... It was the single most enjoyable film experience I've ever had.

28 Days later was pretty fucking intense for me, especially when they link up with the army lads in that old house, and the shit really starts to hit the fan for them, what with zombie invasion/rape/death etc.

Not really scary intense, but the movie "Towelhead" is the most emotionally intense film I've ever seen. It pulls no punches.

The Last Samurai was intense when I first saw it. When the Ninjas were attacking Katsumoto's village and breaking through the walls...damn that was brilliant. They fact the ninjas looks kick ass, and the lack of 'fight music' (I think it was silent, if it wasn't then the choice of music was perfect) made the whole scene feel really dramatic and hardcore. Then the whole movie was leading up to the final battle, I'll try not to spoil it for people but it was the best battle scene ever (imo)!

There will be blood. Had me hooked the whole way through and I felt physically tired after watching it. Very intense.

Okay, my top ten list of films all made me go mad with awesomeness. Also Pet Sematary traumatised me and recently Gommorah was so dark and so gritty and so depressing that it was a real jolt to the system.
