The first game I played was also the first game to piss me off: Super Mario Bros for the NES. Imagine, being three with barely enough fine motor skills to beat the first few levels to only find that the princess is not, in fact, in this particular castle.

I think it was either Joust, Centipede, or Robotron, on the arcade machines they usedta have at Frontier Restaurant, when I was a wee little guy. Whichever it was, I died right away. A couple years later I played Super Mario Bros and Metroid. Metroid got me hooked on video games forever. Yay Metroid!

I think it was an fps called Delta Force. I played it at my friends house, and he would always get annoyed with me because whenever i came over all i wanted to do was play Delta Force :D
He also had the original Myst, so that might have been the first one i played. I remember getting really creeped out by the noises in that big pit with the house at the bottom :p

Super Mario World for the NES. My parents have a home movie of me when I was about 1 year old or so and my brothers handed me the controller and told me to play.

I put it in my mouth

Elite on the Acorn Electron. It kindof went over the head of my 5 year old self but my older brother wouldn't take "stop hitting me" as an answer...

Duck Hunt... And Mario.

Then, of course, came Tetris and Pacman.

The first "modern" game I played, if you will, was Halo: Combat Evolved. It was a real eye-opener...
