What was the worst form of Rage Quit you ever either witnessed or have done yourself?

GTA V. I just had enough of the bugs, glitches, cheats, hacks, failed connections, low pay outs, repetitive grinding and broken eveything. Yeah I had to simply destroy that game. Do I regret it? To be honest, no. No I don't.

Now I am at peace.

I don't see rage quits often but the only time i've legitimately raged quit was when I actually had a run in with one stubborn as hell hacker in Dark Souls 1.

I was just willy nilly invading in Sens, having a good time, playing by the games standards and what not. Then this guy came into my world, and I thought to myself "ooh this could be fun!", since I'm one of those few people who love to be invaded, that and this was near the end of Dks1's run before Dks2 so I could pretty much parry the world. So I snuck up on him with my weak ninja character and what do you know!: Havel Chest, ninja flipping, with a hacked crystal weapon that is a guaranteed 1-2 shot. So after landing a backstab I ran to an area in Sens that was being blocked by an enemy luckily so he couldn't get out. Thats when I sent him messages to "leave the game, stop using means not put in the game to ruin others" ect. ect.
So after getting some quiet rude responses he finally bypassed the enemy, and my plan was to kick him off a ledge since thanks to Dks1, gravity can still kill even a hacker. But unfortunately he backstabbed me which was a certain kill. So as I was at deaths door I literally BOLTED to my PS3 and hit the power button...

It was a faint rage, but imo it was a righteous one.

In Dark Souls 2, the boss Darklurker.

I have prided myself in being a souls fan and "expert" (at least among my friends) and have done one of the most obscure farming in Demon´s Souls (a stone that had .5% in dropping from a ghost knight in NG++++, though i don't remeber if was only in NG++++ or it was just me doing it there *shrug*)

Then it comes the darklurker in DS2, im not sure if its beacuse im getting old and my reflexes/time i spend playing are getting rusty but the rest of the game was normal yet this boss....UGGGGHHH i spent around 67 human effigys (no joke) the black phantoms even stopped popping up, i changed to several different builds and still i was unable to kill the damn thing (still am) So i raged quit the game entirely for months (in shame) till the crown DLCs started....

Im back in there with a renewed hope and build with the objective of killing that thing....but only after the ivory crown is obtained.....im actually very scared my gamer ego will get hurt again if i can't kill the darklurker...

Worst rage quit I remember having was on Halo 4 even though I was kind of forced to quit. I was playing with a few friends and we were having one hell of a bad day. Almost every match was either full of lag, against guys who clearly did nothing but play Halo, or both. The last match I was in we were getting slaughtered by a team who not only seemed to only play Halo all day but was also cheating. (You do not take a concussion blast to face and walk away in a game type where one shot from anything kills you without some form of cheating) I was already pissed off from the earlier matches, but that match was making me madder and madder. Then, to top it all off, halfway though the match my xbox froze up. I don't think I've ever been closer to chucking my controller through the TV than at that point.

I was stressed as hell and tried playing Halo 3 to relieve it on the night before I had my Grade 10 finals and some people would not stop following and harassing me the entire night. I was so stressed that I destroyed the controller and woke up around noon on a two story wooden gazeebo at a park several kilometers away with no idea of how I got up or how I would get down. This was all exacerbated by my stress over the upcoming tests which also gave a sequence of panic attacks that just would not end and the game was the steel reebar that broke the camel's back. I spent the rest of the day in the hospital under supervision in case another panic attack took over. A hell of a way to end a stress induced rage quit.

BF3. Anyone who's played the series knows it has serious issues with spawncamping. Also, I don't think the dedicated servers quite fix the hit detection and lag because I can empty a magazine straight into someone only for them to kill me instantly. Sometimes I would be revived and have almost a full magazine when I died during the reload animation. Strange thing is I never got upset at BF:BC2. It just feels brighter and happier a game. The worst was during a game of Conquest on Operation Metro last week. Couldn't budge before getting knocked down because we spawn in a tunnel and the entire enemy team were snipers and machine gunners who would shoot as soon as our avatar appeared, which is about 2 seconds before you gain control of it.

Similar scenario but on a map where I was trying to get up to a certain time limit to unlock a gun. I couldn't quit because the map was desolate and it's almost impossible to get a game going on it. I was alone going up against a team of 4 who used tanks to camp spawn. I didn't care because the time limit was my goal after which I would never come back to this map again, but I would have ragequit after the second death if I did care. I still have to burn off about 40 minutes.

Midnight Club is a racing game that relied heavily on rubber-banding which got intensely unfair in later races. I got really confused and frustrated when my car that had amongst the best stats in the game was losing to some of the worst stats. Traffic can get bent (literally). Sold the disc. No regrets.

I haven't seen ragequits that aren't plastered all over the internet, but if they count, I'll put up the guy that shoved a controller up his ass over a game of WOW.

Probably more recently when I'm playing Tf2 and I end up playing with a completely incompetent shit team that never seems to push the opposite team if at all and in turn I can't do anything due to dying constantly when I'm against more than 3 people, rest of the team dies, we lose, rinse and repeat until I snap and just quit the entire game.

I just can't stand being thrown into games with shit teams, even the "team scramble" on TF2 hadn't fixed my teams for multiple games that I just have to leave and hope to find another server with more decent players.
Push? What are you talking about? The entire point of TF2 is to set up two engi nests in a building with sightlines to their spawn and rack up points by the thousands without actually doing anything...

Fuck scramble, I only see scramble used as the ultimate Salt Button by the team who just lost instead of a legit balancing tool.

OT: I don't really rage much anymore, like I see people rage in shooters and after over 2 years of League, some Smite and a bit of DOTA I have literally no idea what the dicks they're getting so worked up over. You can actually leave this hell of incompetency and/or toxic behaviour and/or twelve year olds at any given time so just leave and join another server. You can even carry by being that one good person who clears an engi nest or heaven forbid picks Medic and wins with one good uber.

The worst rage quit I ever had was when I was younger playing Monster Rancher on the PSone.

I worked through the game and eventually got the phoenix feather to create the ultimate monster, the Phoenix. This is like equivilent to a legendary in Pokemon, it is in fact legendary, it's like the god of all monsters.

I trained it up a bit, took it into a class E battle tournament (the easiest class there is), lost 4 out of 4 battles to such monsters as a big eye with a tail for a leg, a medium sized dog and pixie. I ejected the game and snapped the disc in half.
