Think back to that distant past and remember your first post.

It wasn't terribly distant, and it was about philosophy.

Looking back on it, I think it was alright for a first post.

Like all my posts, it shattered the standard that was first posts.

Ever since new users have been walking in my shadow unable to find their way out of it.

Sorry, but a year (almost exactly, even!) is actually too far back for me to remember. I do vaguely remember why I registered; someone was being a massive cock and was completely wrong about something. Whatever it was pissed me off enough to create an account after about a year of lurking and make a post pointing out A) why he was incorrect and B) that he was being a douche.

EDIT:Havichecked my post history, apparently I am thinking of a different forum. My first post here was on a thread about Sharia law in the UK.

Best use of a first post ever.

It's not hard to check, really. Just go into your post history on your profile.
And, from page 475, I bring you, from What's Wrong With Number Scores in Reviews?

Numbered scores for games have, like all thing, their ups and downs. Their ups being that they, unlike the review itself, cannot be taken out of context as so many things are these days. Their downs, however, being that they reduce all the time and effort of the designers into a score that reflects only one person, or a small group of peoples' view on it.
It also seems that it's helping to dumb down our culture along with abbreviations such as the dreaded lol and horrific stereotypes shunted into the media.

Overall though, it's a matter of opinion and that's mine.
What about you, OP, what was yours?

It was about a game recommendation, I suggested to the OP to either buy F3: GoTY edition of Football Manager 2010.

Looking back on it, I'm glad I've made my posts look a little bit neater.

It was in a 'do the ends justify the means' topic.

After re-reading it I am rather proud of my first post.

I defended the merits of professional wrestling. Of course that was back when I actually was a die-hard fan of Monday night RAW. Now it's almost impossible for me to defend it. (It's more talking than fighting now).

Don't remember. Probably obnoxious and snotty.
...then go into the posts part of your profile and find the last page?
Just did, and I edited the post out. So I still have no idea what it was, but it's a certainty it was obnoxious. It was a topic about abortion, and I'm usually pretty outspoken about that, so I'm sure I had some choice words for someone which I later decided might get me in trouble.

I remember posting something defending the tendency to act differently based on what group you're in at a given moment. I think it was called "social shapeshifting" in the thread.

It was about post game depression [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/9.200660-Post-game-depression?page=2#6616181]. I'm a little irritated by my use of commas in that post, but aside from that, my posting style hasn't changed very much. It was only a few months ago, after all.

GUYS!

You can look up your first post from your profile. I mean, Jesus fucking Poodlesticks. Seriously.

Mine was this:
"I hate console wars, when people eating around me make noises, that @#!%in pisses me off. Also, pretty much the whole lol, omg, rofl etc. thing in real life. I don't mind it on the internet, but in real-life? That's like saying "I'm gay" at a strip club, and thinking you said "I am laughing at your expensive prices of private sessions.""

Heh, I've dug this up on a few occasions, for earlier threads about one's "first Escapist post", and I don't know. I get what I'm saying, but it's...pretty...odd.
