I'm getting an interview for my first potential job on friday. It's rather cliche since it's at a McDonald's, but hey it's money.

What was your first job / do you want to be your first job?

Typing for a commercial appraisal firm that appraised apartments. It was decent pay, good hours and I could work from home. It was pretty much perfect.

A collator at a printing shop. It was boring, hard work, the people were creepy and I had many papercuts after. I lasted 2 weeks. Money wasn't half bad though.

I was a kitchen porter in a hotel. There was a thermometer hanging from the shelf above me that would never quite hit 50 degrees celsius. Because my hands were nearly constantly immersed in water, I wouldn't realise that I'd cut my hands on the chefs' knives until I was walking home. All for £3.25 an hour. The chefs were pretty good fun though.

I'm actually taking it as a job before going into college. At least while I look for a better job. I need a car so I can commute.

My first job was working in a food wagon at the National Stock show here in AZ
I got paid minimum and only got to work for a week, but I managed to earn about 200 bucks

First job was slinging omelettes on a Sunday brunch line in a little rinky-dink restaurant in a small town. Got my first taste of a kitchen there, and pretty much haven't looked back since.

Yah and they give you a free small drink...woo hoo *cough cough*

McDonalds was my first job too. Night shift wasn't too bad, but they switched me to mornings during the summer, horrible horrible. If you get hired there prepare to hate society. You'll find people ***** about the stupidest shit when it comes to fast food. "WHAT, you only gave me 20 packets of mustard I wanted 21! Where's your manager?!?"

LOL I just remembered three of the people I worked with at McDonald's all were in trouble with the police. One was on probation for smuggling cocaine and mexicans across the boarder, another was arrested in a sting by the FBI (he was pretending to be a 14yo girl and luring people and then robbing them at gun point, and the last was arrested and convicted in a chain of robberies.....oh and who can forget the 350lb guy riding the mini crotch rocket.

Well, money is money. But its going to take you ages to earn enough for a car and enough for insurance and enough to keep it running on minimum wage. I worked there for eight months and earned about £1500. And the one i worked at was disgusting. I was going to take them to court for breach of contract with my working hours but i couldn't affor a lawyer.

I actually have $330 saved in my bank and my dad will match me on a car. I can find a semi-decent one for $2000 and I plan to work 40 hours a week over the summer so I won't have much of a problem I think. Before taxes that will earn me almost $300 a week.
I won't be too worried about gas since I won't have to drive to work since it's a 10 minute walk there from my house and insurance will probably not be too expensive for me.

I reffed basketball with my dad for 3 months of the year for several years a row for a local basketball league. Was really good money too, $20 a game for hour long games, and I had 14 games a weekend. Best job I will probably have before I can get a car.

If you count not-quite-legal jobs, I was a landscaper for a golf course. I wasn't on payroll, and all my money in came in nice bill form.

If you mean ones I have declared for taxes and such, then a bank teller. It's where I learned for a fact that people are stupid.
