I played WoW over my friends house once or twice. I find it like facebook, addictive but you always ask yourself "why do I play/use this".
Personally I thought it was stupid when I wasn't able to pwn all the npc's whenever I felt like it.

Runescape of it counts. Does Phantasy Star online count? I remember playing that at a wee age.

I played GW until the PvP got too easy. I haven't played in awhile so I probably suck again. But yeah I'm looking for a new one to put my time into.
Might I suggest Shin Megami Tensei: Imagine online? It's got a decent story, good gfx, decent gameplay, far superiour character customization over WoW, and the quests are actually interesting.
I actually tried that and I found it terrible, which is a shame because I loved Shin Megami Tensei.
May I ask what you didn't like about it? I love the SMT series, and I'm trying really hard not to call it the best MMO i've ever played (you know, besides Diablo II).
A) You move really slow, and I mean REALLY slow.
B) Holly friggin shit batman, huge blocks of text that hide what you need to know in a sea of complete crap.
C) The whole befriend a demon thing pissed me off to no end.
D) A lot of quests were just [i/]talk to these people[/i], and when you move that fucking slow, it's just a giant hassle.

I would have more complaints but I played it awhile ago.

sadly, its runescape. i played for a few months then i started playing wow.

i share an account with my father, and we´ve made good friends, had fun times. i dont regret it. i regret playing Warhammer Online tho, but thats not the question.

i dont play as much wow as i did a few years ago, but hell, ill probably continue untill the final expansion (if thats ever gonna happen).

lol, alot of Runescape Players, Any other Cabal/Eve Online Players here? :)
try to watch Yahtzee´s Review of EVE. thats pretty much how most of us feel about it.

i tried cabal, but it wasnt that great. it was too easy, and if you didnt subscribe, you couldnt do very much. of course i was at a friends place, so i only played it once, but it wasnt very good.

A) What's your computer like? I Wasn't moving slow at all, I found it to be faster than alot of MMO's.
B) What resolution did you have it set at? The text boxes don't get in my way, and in any case you can resize them and move them as you see fit.
C)Sorry to hear that, I thought it was something relatively new to MMO's (with the exception of guild wars of course). And apart from it being very difficult to acquire a pet at first, due to your low level, I thought it was very well done.
D)I, personally found less quests where you have to talk to someone than most big budget MMO's. Also the character customization is simply superb. They've managed to capture, IMO the experience from the offline Megaten's and put it in online play.

Runescape. Its where i learned the difference between a game, and a simulation of hell that leaves your eyes burning.

You're the man...

My first MMO experience would have to be knights online, after several others i lost taste in the life sucking phenomenon that MMO's are. Atleast for me
