What was the point in a game where you raised your head, screamed, and yelled, "HOW DO I DO THIS!" Those things that might seam mundane, but to you, it seamed impossible. The door who's key you didn't have, the one jump you couldn't make, the one enemy you couldn't beat, the one portal who's on switch was just out of sight. What are the moments that pushed you to madness just trying to figure out what your suppose to do?

Mirror's Edge

I think it was inside the ship... a long corridoor where you climb a bunch of pipes, then have to execute a perfect wall run and jump the other way onto a red bar.

I was stuck there for an hour.

Also... 2 or 3 of the Collossi from SOTC stumped me real bad.

And... Ocarina of Time, how the hell was I meant to know I was supposed to bomb that rolling Goron to progress the story??

Ironically it was the original Half Life. I was able to perform that stupid 'long jump' as a child of six years of age. But I can't do it now that I'm an adult.

Why the hell won't it WORK!?

I still haven't finished the damn game because of that, damn bodiless voice doesn't help at all.
"Deceive the Colossus to get one it's back." What the fuck does that mean? I finally accidentally figured it out, and the next one was annoying trying to jump on it's back while its going mach 30.

A lot of PS2 games, like Sly Cooper.

It wasn't so much "HOW DO I DO THIS" as "HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO DO THIS".

I just recently beat it (after having been stuck on like, the first level, since I sucked at everything when I was younger) and the last fucking boss was fucking hell.

It's not that it was super hard, it's just... YOU GET 1 FUCKING CHANCE, AND IF YOU FUCK UP, YOU START OVER AT THE BEGINNING.

As for HOW DO I DO THIS moments, the only one that I can really think of right now is a few levels in Faces of War/Men of War.

There was one where I had to take over this base on a hilltop, and it was fortified by like 4 trenches, a ton of turrets, anti-infantry artillery, and some tanks.

I had about 4 infantry.

I ended up having to fucking cheat because it was SO FUCKING HARD.

:(

Devil May Cry 3, the weapon Nevan.
No matter how much I persisted I could never ever make that weapon act anywhere close to as awesome as it seems capable of being.
I was never any good at Guitar Hero or Rock Band past medium either..
I guess there's just not enough Rock n' Roll in my soul..

Assassins Creed 2. I was DETERMINED to climb a certain church tower in Venice. I spent an hour trying to climb it and I just couldn't figure out how to reach the top.

I was furious and felt very silly when I found out you learn a technique a little later to help you climb the thing.

EDIT: I looked it up, it's the Frari. And here's the blasted tower in real life:

In S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Shadow of Chernobyl when I got locked inside that room with c-consciousness. I spent some time a lot of time looking around with WTF expression on my face... until I went for the blunt shoot-the-shiny-things approach (of course I did try that right away, but I was not violent enough, you realy had to shoot it gooood).

The Wolverine Origins game for the Wii (Yes, I know. I can't afford a PS3 or a 360). There's this one part where I kinda rage-quited because I couldn't knock over this pylon keeping me away from freedom. Also, the annoying part is this is in the beginning of the game.

Probably in the Prince of Persia: The Two Thrones. The boss fight with those 2 massive armoured guys and your attacks did little to nothing. Then I figured that you had to position them in the right place so that you can perform a speed kill, LIKE EVERY OTHER BOSS. That boss fight made me not play that game for a good 4 months.

And of the early JRPGs. They weren't always clear on what the hell you were supposed to do next.

And Metroid. Sometimes I would run around for an hour or so trying to figure out where to go next.

And more than a few of the old school adventure games. Some of the stuff they wanted you to do made sense, but some of the things were just freaking insane. Particularly before they had point and click interface.

"Put the airsick bag in the hair rejuvenator bottle" If you know what this is from, then you know of my frustration.

Every second screen of "I Wanna be the Guy" On the final boss now but darn it took took awhile to figure out where to go and how to defeat certain bosses.

The next game would probably be in AvP in the Alien Campaign, the very start of the Jungle level. The VERY start. You have to look a little to the right and go through a vent. I spent thirty minutes running up walls, attacking lights and climbing trees until I stumbled into it.

Metal Gear Solid, the fight with psycho mantis. After some hours I looked it up on the internet and just thought "HOW WAS I SUPPOSED TO FIGURE THAT OUT?!"

Many quests in Morrowind, I couldn't find whatever place the quest giver talked about or find the person I had to talk to or something like that. I am so thankful I have UESP to help me out with that, of course I can't alt tab to it or else my game crashes but still.
