What was your personal biggest problem with Fable 2?

I got given Fable 2 for Christmas 2008, I had been expecting something great because I was a very big fan of the original Fable. But soon I realised there a lot of problems with the game and lots of other people seem to think so too. For me personally I think the biggest problem was everything they took out, there are HALF as many spells in this game than were featured in the original, there is no beginning where you go through the stages of your life and grow up like in the original. You can count all the weapons in game on your fingers, you never have enough money and you can only buy one Health Potion per store. Add to that the frankly embarrasingly short story quest and you've got issues. It feels a little like the story quest of Fable 1 with lots and lots cut out. What happened?
It still has a few good things like how quests come in on the fly when you are exploring the environment. But that's not really enough. What was your biggest issue with this game and why do you think it happened?

I got Fable 2 on sale for 45 bucks. It was really fun and addicting at first, but the story line was too short, and was very repetitive. I sold it after a month just because I lost interest in it. I still have the first Fable though! :)

My problem with it is that someone forgot to make a PC version...

All the stuff you mentioned and more. The ridiculous non-difficulty level. How magic is not just cut down, but downright worthless (I finished the game without casting more than the single spell needed for the tutorial, and used the same one on the two or so magic-triggered switches). How they added the ability to play as a woman, but for some reason neglected including a female body shape. The unlikeability of all the NPC's except Barnum, who is then killed for COMIC EFFECT. How the TEN BLOODY YEARS you are forced to work in slavery somehow doesn't affect you at all (except they cut off your hair) and your family/families doesn't notice you've been gone. The feeling that nothing you do matters, for that matter. I actually burst out laughing when Lucien proclaimed "Your wife...is dead." because by then I had forgotten I had one. The final boss fight boiling down to "Hold A to win the game".
And finally, given three very limited and mutual exclusive choices at the end when the device is stated to have unlimited power is an insult to the player and his/her intelligence.
I choose "D" - split Theresa's skull for selling me out and take all the power for myself. I was a goody-goody, so I would use it far better than that conniving hag.

The game has zero immersion, zero emotional impact (except for the disappointment it frequently delivers) and zero replayability value, so I guess my biggest problem is that it was released. Or hearing Peter Molyneux gush over how much he loves his own game and appearently wants to have its baby. Both are about equally disturbing.

Oh, and I too love Saint's Row 2! THAT is how a sequel is done, Mr. Molyneux!

I can't decide, it's either the fact that it's basically the same as the last one, the annoying bumpkins or the linearity of the thing. But either way I didn't like it.

The fact that there's so many lazy design options taken, so many shortcuts. I'd have rather Lionhead had taken another year to make it as opposed to cutting so many corners with design.
Also, the fact that you can't die bugged me more than a little bit, soon I just gave up caring about healing myself or even trying to protect myself, there seemed to be no point.

Lack of customisation, no armour, lack of weapons, no immersion, buggy, good = halo, bad = horns, instead of looking strong you just look fat, even after eating 50 pieces of celery, which is just silly, very very easy, ending was POOP, quests were POOP, lack of quests, magic system sucked. I could go on...

the combat system has improved ten fold the speed and strength of the daichi is sooo much fun, but like the original it failed to have much of a plot and the final battle

WORST EVER IN HISTORY

I loved the first game, but Fable 2 was...iffy. They main thing I hated was rushed it felt. It was buggy as hell, the story was rediculusly short (and just plain bad), and in general everything felt unfinished. Given it a few more months I'm certain it would have been awesome.

I have two problems.

1) Why can't I look like me when I'm playing co-op, dammit? It's no fun when you have to be one of those goddamned preset henchmen. I was really looking forward to playing co-op with my brother/friends as my guy.
This just ruined half the game for me.

2) The game is far too short. There really isn't much else to do after the story, except maybe achievement whore(which I totally did). The DLC was reasonable, it gave us a whole new area to play with, but again, the goal it tacked on to keep us busy was achieved so ass-damned quickly. Fable II kept me busy for a total of about two weeks, tops, and that's because I was pushing it.

Other than these two issues, I loved it. If just one of these were removed, Fable II would have been exponentionally better, in my opinion.

Too easy, too short.

I shouldn't be able to finish the main story arc of an RPG in a lazy weekend!

Why weren't there more troll-like bosses. Why weren't there harder fight?

I was having fun with it until my save game buggered up, after I was most of the way through the game. I then couldn't be bothered to start a new one, because of the amount of time I'd spent on the previous game, and now I realise there's not a whole lot in it to draw me back into playing it.

The only problem that I have with Fable II is the online co-op. I don't like the Gauntlet-style same screen view.

While I do like Fable 2 there's a lot to complain about, my main issue is that your actions, whether good or evil have absolutely no effect on the story, why is it that even after you've spent all your time stealing, murdering and farting in people's general direction, Theresa still expects you to help save the world?
And it's not like there's anything else to do really since the number of side quests can be counted on two hands.

I find it lacks the three things I look for most in a game: challenge, story, and replayability. If it was just missing one, I could cope. But leave out all 3, and you've got an overrated game.
