Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars. It may not be the longest or the deepest story line but damn that game was fun!

my first one was the elder scrolls morrowind, but I was too young to understand it, the first one I actually played and liked was KOTOR 2

Damn there's a lot of young people on here..

Mine's either Dragon Quest or Final Fantasy 1. I don't remember which I played first specifically. The first RPG I fell in love with was Phantasy Star 2. I'd love to play through it again but the game was so damn long and I have so many other options out there (as well as more of a life than I did when I was 9) so I doubt that'll ever happen.

Ultima 3 for the NES was, despite me having no idea how to play it. It took me quite a while to figure out that hitting select let you find a whole different screen of spells.

SSI Gold Box D&D games..

Actual Zork series text MUDS but I never got into finishing them so I'll stick with the above..

the first diablo, i loved it to pieces, even if online was absolutely loaded with hackers, and hardly anyone played. this is the game that gave me my unhealthy obsession with diablo 2 =D
