To be honest... I think Age of Empires had its day. AoE2 was an awesome game, but AoE3 was not quite up to snuff. With how many other games are out there that are able to cover historical eras so well, I'd think that another AoE game would have some real difficulty being able to be set in an era that has not already been done to death in other games, with the possible exception of the Thirty Years War.

I wouldn't judge it based on the graphics. It's very faithful to the classic Age of Empires gameplay. It's also NDA'd last I checked, so you'll just have to apply for the beta to find out more.

i like how its persistant, it might be good if they can keep it true to the original and allow you to invade random peoples empires in PVP and take-over.

GFW Live is free, and I don't think it's a 360 game.

I hope that the final version doesn't require that you have an XBox Live account. It looks really cool but me, and almost all my friends, don't have 360s.

They're free for PC, it's not xbox live it's windows live.

To participate in the Beta, you need a gamertag that connects to Xbox LIVE and the Games for Windows LIVE client. If you already have a Games for Windows ? LIVE gamertag or an Xbox LIVE gamertag with a Silver or Gold account, you simply need to download the latest version of the Games for Windows ? LIVE client. If you do not have a gamertag, you can create one online.

Maybe I'm just reading it wrong. Whatever, I'm going to try signing up.

A silver account doesn't cost anything, and you can use your Silver gamertag with GFWL.

I played AoE 3, and I don't know if my copy was glitched or something, but every time I fought with my infrantrymen, they would all target the same enemy, no matter what. This happened on the computer's side to, and all of my fights ended up being 100 soldiers vs. 100 soldiers, and every single one of them deciding to aim at a single unfortunate soul.

This really reduced my enjoyment of the game (I had wanted to see massive armies seemingly taking potshots at eachother), but from what I've heard it doesn't happen to other people... this angered me.

All of that being said, I would like to see another AoE game, because I'm a fan of the series (before 3 that is).

nah i cant say thats happened to me, i once got a load of those big cannons and deliberatly fired at one enemy, that was fun
