GFW Live is free, and I don't think it's a 360 game.shootthebandit said:i like how its persistant, it might be good if they can keep it true to the original and allow you to invade random peoples empires in PVP and take-over.Virgil said:I wouldn't judge it based on the graphics. It's very faithful to the classic Age of Empires gameplay. It's also NDA'd last I checked, so you'll just have to apply for the beta to find out more.shootthebandit said:seriously, graphics look horrible. its like something youd play on facebook, its like a farmville empire
problem i can see is that you need a live account, i dont really want to be paying for a live account

They're free for PC, it's not xbox live it's windows live.chromewarriorXIII said:I hope that the final version doesn't require that you have an XBox Live account. It looks really cool but me, and almost all my friends, don't have 360s.

Maybe I'm just reading it wrong. Whatever, I'm going to try signing up.To participate in the Beta, you need a gamertag that connects to Xbox LIVE and the Games for Windows LIVE client. If you already have a Games for Windows ? LIVE gamertag or an Xbox LIVE gamertag with a Silver or Gold account, you simply need to download the latest version of the Games for Windows ? LIVE client. If you do not have a gamertag, you can create one online.
Yeah, I don't know why it brings up xbox live at all as it'll just confuse matters, but I haven't found anything Microsoft have done logical gameswise for quite a long time.chromewarriorXIII said:-sniplet-
Yeah, I managed to sign up perfectly fine. I wonder if it's just some sort of advertising thing for Microsoft (as if they need it).DazZ. said:Yeah, I don't know why it brings up xbox live at all as it'll just confuse matters, but I haven't found anything Microsoft have done logical for quite a long time.chromewarriorXIII said:-sniplet-
A silver account doesn't cost anything, and you can use your Silver gamertag with GFWL.chromewarriorXIII said:DazZ. said:shootthebandit said:problem i can see is that you need a live account, i dont really want to be paying for a live accountThey're free for PC, it's not xbox live it's windows live.chromewarriorXIII said:I hope that the final version doesn't require that you have an XBox Live account. nah i cant say thats happened to me, i once got a load of those big cannons and deliberatly fired at one enemy, that was funVilcus said:I played AoE 3, and I don't know if my copy was glitched or something, but every time I fought with my infrantrymen, they would all target the same enemy, no matter what. This happened on the computer's side to, and all of my fights ended up being 100 soldiers vs. 100 soldiers, and every single one of them deciding to aim at a single unfortunate soul.
This really reduced my enjoyment of the game (I had wanted to see massive armies seemingly taking potshots at eachother), but from what I've heard it doesn't happen to other people... this angered me.
All of that being said, I would like to see another AoE game, because I'm a fan of the series (before 3 that is).
