Hmm, robot uprising, nice change of theme, don't want to wear out the zombie thing.

Well robots are a major challenge, just look at the likes of Predator UAV's and all the automated aeronautical death which exists TODAY.

The biggest problem is the robots will likely be made out of steel or steel plated which would make most firearms virtually useless and would only serve to slow them down. High explosives would be the only reliable way to take one out but grenade launchers are rather restricted in most parts and even talking about making explosives.

Fire seems like the most effective improvised weapon, the early robots will likely be EXTREMELY heavily armed but be slow, we are basically talking a humanoid shaped tank and WWII showed armoured machines like tanks can be completely fucked up by fire.

Camouflage is also a must. Robots would have extremely primitive senses, to the point that they will have a hard enough time even picking you out from the background, even the most crude camouflage will help you hide in plain sight and only a very high contrast image with the robot be able to discern as human and shoot.

Thermal imaging would be a problem so wrap up like it is an Arctic winter to seal your body heat and drop "decoy" flares everywhere. Also ground/wall in sunlight will be "bleached" so you can hide in that.

But other than that, the best tactic is to run. One thing that is true for all robots is how lumbering they are, you can likely run, scramble, swim and jump obstacles better than any robot. But you can't run forever, eventually you will have to make a stand and set a trap.

An EMP gernade that is strong enough to whip out a an EMP grenade factory of robots.

Edit:
That and... the number 2! Stand back robots, I got a 2 and I know how to use it!

A Cell phone. If that shit could(theoretically) take down a plane, I'm taping as many as I can to my body.
Thats abit of a Myth, I think (I'm pretty sure MythBusters tested that one).

Anywho, I'd use fridge magnets, a copper coil, and car battery to construct an electromagnet to screw up their harddrives.

My inability to fight a robot. I would approach one and ask why it is attacking me and what it has to gain from trying to kill me, some weak small person who can barely lift 50 pounds on his own. If they don't kill me before I can open my mouth, I would hope they would see me as a waste of ammo/fuel and continue on their rampage without involving me.

General Ned Ludd and the necessary amount of AK's to arm his army of luddites. I imagine that's the one machine he'd apprechiate, and with Vista still on the market, I'm guessing he'd round up a few million soldiers in one afternoons work.

Powerful columnized sound waves. These speakers exist and send 100 decibel sound wave as psychological warfare, be tee dubs, that is it's lowest setting. Pretty sure its highest setting can mess with some sort of electronics.

And how would you obtain said EMP? Do you have access to any nukes I don't know about?
Counter-question: where the hell is this robot uprising coming from?
good counter-question, me of course, by the way, some of the robots can fly, and fast, (think plane from STEALTH, just better).
but if i didnt cause the meatbag revolution (not likely), i would get a seismic gun to speed up the rotation of the outer core, thus creating a stronger magnetic field which does two things,
1: pulls all robots into the earth as they would be effected by the magnetic field,
2: the field would fry their electronic brains.
Check and Mate

I really hope you would be undercover activating this weapon, lest you start dodging robot rain.

I'll put on a card board box as a suit, go beep beep alot, and upload Windows 95 to their system, then retreat to my underground bunker.

The world should be filled with suicidal robos in 2 days.

That or I'll just use a Nuke 50 revolver. Youtube that if you want to see it's awsomeness. :3

That would work with things made out of iron(steel), nickel, and cobalt. What about things like stealth bombers that are made out of polygraphite? A lot of robots that we have now are made out of aluminum neither of which are affected by weak magnetic fields like the ones that can be provided by the earth. I am pretty sure the field you would need to affect all the metals would start affecting water (you know, 70% of us).
