What weapon would you use in case of zombie apocalypsis?

A tactical semi-auto .270. It's got good range, ammo capacity, fire rate, and it's more than powerful enough to get the job done. Also a machete, I think it's the best melee weapon for any apocalypse, light, muti-purpose, and strong enough to get the job done.

I might take a compound bow and plenty of arrows instead of either of those actually, unsure.

Hustle up 299 mates, kit each of us out with an aspis with a lambda on it, xyston, xiphos (or kopis, though I'd prefer a falcata), Corinthian helmet and panoply. Glorious last stand time.
This is definitely the best zombie plan I've ever seen. I might have to imitate it. I also completely agree with using a falcata over a xiphos.
Sudden thought just came to me... how awesome would we look after getting necroed? Eh? Sure, we'd have mush for brains, but that'd be a scary sight for survivors.

Anyway, what I meant to say was that yeah, the falcata was an awesome sword, equivalent of a bloody axe, pity it's slightly the wrong end of the Mediterranean and wrong era (sort of).

I am a zombie so I will just join in the feasting on all you guys.
But in the case they turn against me I would go with a shot gun. Its the ultimate zombie killing weapon.

Realistically: An UZI, A shotgun, and a Spear

Unrealistically: The AR-2 from Half-Life, The Fat-Man from Fallout, and The Ray Sphere from Infamous

My currently assembled arsenal includes a 9mm Desert Eagle, a 9mm Beretta, a .306 Remington 700 Rifle, a 12 gauge Mossberg shotgun, an antique fire axe for melee purposes, and a WWI trench knife. Seriously, a lot of Zombie prep is common sense prep for general emergencies.

If I can use a fantasy weapon, A holy symbol of Kelemvor. Plus, if I'm a Doomguide, zombies cannot stand against me!

But if not, I would take a Ruger Pistol. That's the one I learned to shoot with.

an AK-47 would certainly be a good choice because they're apparently very reliable and easy to make. I obviously don't have experience in the matter, automatic weapons are illegal in my country, even automatic paintball and automatic airsoft guns are illegal. I'd say it all depends on the type of zombie apocalypse. If they're slow and dumb then you wouldn't need more than a melee weapon and a few friends, but if they're fast zombies you probably want a firearm of some kind. Sometimes the virus is airborne and when you go outside you're already infected so yeah...

I would wear full body armor so they can't hurt me then go running around punching them in the face with my armored (rocket powered) fist for long range any kind of sniper rifle to take out dangerous survivors/people that have things I want.

My choice would be a Ruger 10/22. It's light, accurate and reliable. Ideally, a suppressor would be good, because when you fire a .22lr though a suppressor it is very quiet. .22lr ammunition is extremely common and is sold in a crap-load of places, so it wouldn't be hard to find and is very small and light. You could carry several hundred rounds of it with little problem.

To all of you who obtained all of their knowledge of firearms from the Call of Duty series, no the .22lr is not weak. It is plenty capable of going through a human skull.

I would have a .22lr semi-automatic pistol as a secondary, and as for a melee weapon, I think I would go with a cricket bat, just for the hell of it.

Moira's Rock-It Launcher from Fallout 3. I'll never have to worry about ammo ever again, because I can shoot whatever the hell I want out of it. I'll only need a vacuum cleaner, conductor, firehose nozzle, and leaf blower to make it and to repair it. Also they'll be in better condition as it's a biological as opposed to atomic apocalypse.

I don't have much experience about gun maintenance. But from what I have heard, the AK rifles handle dust, dirt and water pretty well, so I will go with that.
I am not really athletic or strong, so I would not be all that useful in a melee fight, a crowbar maybe? They have more uses that just bashing skulls in.

A rapier with a full length blade and as many ready-loaded Beretta px4-storms as I could carry. Small, but light; carrying several loaded at all times seems a good option. A small hand-gun is the only type of firearm I have even the barest amount of experience with, so it's probably my safest bet.

My trusty 2x4.

Once that's gone, whatever I find on the way to where ever I'm going.

edit: On second thought, why would I need a weapon? I'm the one who started raising zombies in the first place.

"There are no more rich douchebags, no more handsome quarterbacks to steal all the hot girls".

Would be quite an embaressment to end up with some survivors and if other guys get all the girls. For example 7 guys and 6 girls get to safety and everything they need, but leaving the place is impossible. Next ten years youre gonna spend in this same company. Awww all the ways for this to go wrong.

a nuclear bomb. Well, like 10. Launch them all over the world and have me and every other living person hop in a fallout shelter. Then boom goes the dynamite and start repopulating.

Ideally I'd quite like an L85A2 because that's the gun the military use over here, meaning that ammo and spare magazines would be everywhere in a zombie appocalypse. I like to think I have the self control to stay on single-fire mode and avoid switching to rock-'n'-roll when things get heavy.

Unfortunatly, by the nessecity of the military using it, it's also a military grade assault rifle and the chances of me owning one over here in Britain are slim-to-illegal. So restricing myself to relativly low power firearms, I'd go for a nice .22 rifle, preferably bolt action with an external magazine because they're a little more reliable and very easy to unblock if the rifle does jam, as well as being easy to reload (though they do carry the slight risk of a round going off prematurely as you slide the bolt home, thus shattering all the bones in your hand. Fun!).

Since .22 rifles do tend to use .22 ammunition, I can use the same ammo in a .22 pistol as well for close quarters such as clearing out a building for the night.

Right, rifle on my back and a pistol on one hip, that leaves my other hip free for a melee weapon. A machete would be useful for cutting up wood for a fire, but to be honest a pocket knife with a saw would do the job, and I live in the city so I won't be hacking through undergrowth anytime soon... in which case I choose the crowbar! A little on the heavy side but it does have decent range, it's solid iron, has a big sharp point on the end AND can actuallly be used as, you know, a crowbar when I need to force my way into a building.

(Why yes, I have put a lot of thought into this. I'll see you on the other side of the apocalypse, when the rest of the human race has died due to their lack of forsight!)
