At 17, my Metallica phase was finishing... Ah, I think I remember. This is the band that debuted around that time, I believe... I was with them since the first demo.

Actually all the angst crops up when you're 13, not 17. Maybe you were late to the party?
Anyway, I'm only 16 right now, but I guess I'll post some of my favourite songs of the moments.

Gonna edit
OK maybe angst isnt quite the right decription, but it was the most apt word I could think of at the time ^^.

Ah okay, fair enough. As a matter of interest, what music do you listen to these days?

My taste has moved into a completely different direction, I find my self listening ti Edit, The Glitch Mob, Aesop Rock, El-P and many more, but nothing like the stuff I was listening to way back when.

For example

If I answer this question trutfully, that would create a time paradox, or require knowledge of the past reincarnations of my soul, or something.

But I listened to a lot of Three Days Grace when I was younger, about thirteen.

Gallows, The Gaslight Anthem, Rancid, NOFX, Rise Against
Actually that's exactly what I listen to now, age 20. I guess it shows how kick-ass punk is
But nowadays I also listen to more hardcore and metalcore like This Is Hell, Suicide Silence, Comeback Kid etc

And to the OP: Deftones fuckin' rock!!! Good taste, brah

Smash Mouth, Bon Jovi, Ozzy Osbourne, other forms of classic rock, and songs I found on youtube. It was only half a year ago, and I HATE modern music. With a passion.

Smashing Pumpkins (None above, not beside)

Radiohead.
Black Sabbath.
The Rolling Stones.
Pink Floyd.
Jethro Tull.
Led Zeppelin.
The Offspring.
Etc. etc.

My taste rocked... Literally ;--)

Hoo boy...let's see if I can reach back to the murky depths of an entire year ago.

...Oh wait, I was listening to almost the exact same thing. Hardcore punk, folk rock, metalcore, ska, and classical. Add techno and a smattering of hip-hop and rockabilly to that list and you have my current taste.

I was just short of becoming fed up with listening to various gentlemen of the African-American persuasion rapping about their "bitches", fast automobiles and their alleged distribution/consumption of various controlled substances and dressing up in apparel three times my size. It was an extremely futile and Caucasian time. At some point it ocurred to me that I was not relating to such a lifestyle and thus I became a TRUPUNX.

EDIT: Gentlemanly humor aside, I was into mainstream hip-hop at age 17. I then got into punk/ska. Currently it's still predominantly punk and ska but with all sorts of other stuff in the mix.

Mostly Guns' n Roses, Metallica, Faith No More, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Jesus Jones, Nirvana and Pearl Jam. I loved 90's rock!
