Well first of all I got to give mention to Pandora's Tower which from my experience is the least rare of the Operation Rainfall trilogy. The dungeon mazing is fun, the game has a Shadow of the Colossus feel to it although not as good, the story is dark and depressing, see the girl in great pain and turning into a terrible hellspawn is heart breaking and disgusting, and it honestly just makes you want to keep playing the game because you don't want to see her in pain. Problem is I haven't finished it yet. :/

Monster Hunter Tri is apparently a lot of fun, although I wouldn't know seen as I only bought the Ultimate version on Wii U, Dead Space Extraction is apparently a fantastic title as well and has a bit more content than the PS3 version, the Metroid Prime Trilogy is a stunning collection of three of the finest games out with very immersive controls and Gamecube graphics that still hold up remarkably well at least for the first title, New Super Mario Bros. Wii is honestly my favourite 2D Mario title since Super Mario World, Wario Land The Shake Dimension is a beautiful looking title for those looking for more 2D platform fun, Tatsunoko vs. Capcom is one of the most fun fighting games out there with a wonderful character roster, Zack & Wiki is a fun but difficult point and click adventure, The Conduits 1 & 2 are fun FPS titles that sadly you won't be able to play online anymore, Sonic Colors was the game that got Sonic out of the mud hole at long last, Sin & Punishment Star successor is a fantastic title with a great predecessor on the virtual console, Link's Crossbow Training is a nice game if you are into getting high scores and shooting at things, Project Zero 2 is a fantastic remake of Fatal Frame 2, if you live in Japan or Europe that is, and while the first Red Steel is a complete mess of an existence, the second game is a great deal of fun, although I would recommend Wii Sports Resort and Skyward Sword over it when it comes to motion controls.

That's a lot of titles there, and people call the Wii a dust gather. It has at least 30 essential titles to it.

Most of the good games have already been said, so here's a few that didn't get quite get so much attention:

Zack and Wiki: Quest for Babaros' Treasure - a fantastic puzzle game. Can't recommend it enough

Sky Crawlers: Innocent Aces - a good flight sim with a large selection of planes and weapon load outs to choose from.

Castle of Shikigami III - a nice bullet hell shmup with 10 different characters to play as, each with their own unique abilities

Trauma Center Second Opinion
Trauma Center Newblood
Trauma Team
Mad World
No More Heroes
No More Heroes 2 Desperate Struggle
Resident Evil 4
Castle of Shikigami III
The Last Story.

There is alot, they are just kind of hard to find. Especially the Trauma Center ones. you'd be lucky if you found them at a gamestop used, I used amazon for New Blood.

Wario Ware: Smooth Moves! Great with kids, great with parents, fantastic for a small group of people looking for a good laugh.

I also bought Sin & Punishment: Star Successor two years ago because it was on sale at Best Buy for $5 and it had some good reviews, but I never opened it.

shit i was worried noone would mention resident evil.
if you aint played it resident evil 4 is the best version on the best installment of all the resident evil games.

also prince of persia forgotten sands and okami.

i'll admit the wii was a gimicky piece of shit most of the time and usually only excelled when it threw away the motion control bullshit but those 3 games nailed it and made the wii excel over all the other consoles if only for a moment.

One title that doesn't seem to be mentioned much is Punch-Out!!

I stand by the notion that this is one of the few video game remakes that's actually BETTER than the original.

Xenoblade Chronicles:
For obvious reasons. If it weren't for the fact that it drags its heels at the end a little bit, and that sidequests make the game too easy (and that they don't give you enough good ones near the end to make sure you're ready for the final boss), I would consider it a PERFECT game, and it would be my favourite JRPG of all time. It's incredible. Great story, great combat, everything about it is amazing.

Muramasa: The Demon Blade
This is a FANTASTIC 2D Vertical beat-em-up. You can combo your enemies all the way up to the sky and it is INCREDIBLY fun. I Loved the hell out of it.

Playing with the wiimote is great since there are ZERO gestures, meaning you can rest your hands comfortably in any position you want.

TOTALLY reccomend the hell out of it.

Smash Bros Brawl:
Not just because it's a pretty fun game, but because there are some AWESOME mods for it.
Look up Brawl Minus. It's super fun. XD

There are a few others I can recommend without caveats as well, but they're all downstairs right now and I'm about to go to bed. :s

The first ones which come to mind:

House of the Dead Overkill
A bigger version of it is included in Typing of the Dead Overkill, but it isn't a lightgun-shooter. Your decision if you want the trade off

Muramasa, unless you have a Vita, in which case get the improved version

Trauma Team and the Trauma Center Series

No More Heroes 1+2, the first has a HD version on the PS3 though

Calling

Fatal Frame 4
Never got an official localization

Xenoblade Chronicles

Last Story

Pandora's Tower

Punch Out Wii

Tanis
