Well im a big fan of coldplay's music so i wouldnt mind seeing more great coldplay albums in the 2010-2019 period ;)

And unless some 70's and 80's hard rock/ metal groups like Van Halen or something get back together then i doubt i'll be listening to much else =p

Hopefully it will be the return of good quality metal. Just a dream.
no, it will not because it is scientifically proven smart people listen to rock and metal, you need a certain amount of "brainpower" to enjoy the fast and complicated guitar riffs and drums.

so it is true, the jonas brothers are stupid, and stupid people listen to them.
Smart people listen to rock and metal? Are you serious? You can't be.

So if music is fast and complicated it instantly makes it better? I hope your not saying that.
No I just heard it somewhere, that smarter people enjoy rock because it's more complicated, I am not saying that a death metal listening high school drop out is a genius.
but I think it might actually be true that "smart" people listen to rock.

The most complex music I think is classical music and I heard it boosts intelligence but I don't know if that is true or not.

yeah that could be,

What great music was made in the 2000's? And how are you so sure that there is something out there for everyone? Come and argue with me, I know you don't know there really is music out there for everyone but I would like you to try.
You sound exactly like the people who were saying this during the 60s, the 70s and the 80s. Lots of fantastic music was made in the 2000's.

If you want an example - Sigur Ros. Consistently making the most beautiful, amazing and unique music I've ever heard. Radiohead. Something for Kate. Hell, you wanted "catchy tunes" and "great riffs" - what about Muse? As much as I don't like them - they have some songs which meet that criteria. Lots of them.

But anyway, as I said you sound like the old people who chant "it was better back in the day!". My theory still stands as what I mentioned before. It's has ALWAYS been "cool" in the alternative-underground scene to hate new music. Always.
Well your right about one thing, I did discover the classics not too long ago and I have not heard anything near as powerful through the 2000's. I like Muse but they didn't really make any powerful great riffs.

Anyway I'm gonna go find some Sigur Ros, any songs you want to recommend?

Hoppipolla is their most famous song, and Goobeldigook is also a good one.

Anyone who said the 00s was crap just wasn't looking hard enough. I'm a metal head and there has been incredible albums, and a plenty of them. I admit the stuff on the radio is crap, but to be fair it always has been.

[small]*Hopes nobody will point out that at one point Pink Floyd were played on the radio*[/small]

I'll continue to listen to the new stuff and nit pick what I like rather than bitching about how everything not indie is automaticly suck as I have done for the last two decades of my life if its good fine I dont go in with expectations, I dont come out dissapointed either.

I like what I like and dont tie myself down to genres/bands why is such a simple creed so hard for people to follow when the net results work so well.

I'm hoping that Lil' Wayne will stop being such a pop icon, and I can have good rap music again.

Ah well. Underground...

Iron Maiden's what, FIFTEENTH studio album? Give or take one. Beyond that, nothing else I know of that will be particularly exciting.
