People who think music is getting worse are forgetting that the really really popular stuff is only a small blip on the radar compared to the wealth of other stuff being made at the same time that you might not be aware of.
You're about 7 kinds of great right about now.

so I should start playing Fur Elise on bass, then I will become an even smarter genius.
No, you shouldn't.. That melody is pie. Try the Bach Cello Suites.

Each passing year music is getting worse. 2010 will be dominated by drug-addled shitheads calling themselves musicians....

Atleast Burzum is Making a comeback!

Also Athiest is coming back, and so Gorguts under the name Negativa! :D Ofcourse this is more exiting for the death metal fan.

I'm hoping for Smooth Jazz, and Progressive Rock (Heavily influenced by things like Smooth Jazz... and traffic noises) will make a bit of an uprising. I mean, Prog Rock has been around for damned near 30 years, if not more, and it has yet to really be considered "main stream", with the exception of a few songs. It'd be nice to see the complicated musical structures reach the ears of the common listener.

The mainstream scene? It shall be crap, like it always has been in general, these are facts.

The fake alternative scene? (as in Green Day and Likin Park and all of that "Pop in drag" bullcrap) See the above

The underground scene? Underrated and filled with music-snobs that have to right to be so because the mainstream audience is in fact lacking in terms of music knowledge or culture.

In other words, they will suck...

Hopefully it will be the return of good quality metal. Just a dream.
Well Necrophagist may release their new album next year that's something to look foward to. Also Burzum will release a new album,

And what do mean return, Megadeth's Endgame, Dream Theater's Black Clouds, Behemoth's Evangelion, W.A.S.P.'s Babylon, Sunn O)))'s Monoliths and Dimensions and Anaal Nathrakh's In the Constellation Of The Black Widow were all fucking brilliant.

Given the latest trend in music - crunkcore... I don't want to listen to 2010-2020's music. I think I'm like my father - as in, I really can't see the appeal in the new music, and stay in the bedroom with my music playing at all times (Wilco, Brand New, et cetera, et cetera)

I'm thinking "pure" soft emo will fade away from sight, and scene/post-hardcore (Think songs like Downfall-A Day To Remember) will replace it as the popular-yet popularly hated genre.Maybe some progressive metal will come into the mainstream as well.

Pop chart music will continue to suck as it always had.

Metal,Punk, and all their beloved subgenres will continue thriving on and doing their thing, making news among their respective musical communities but otherwise unnoticed.

Rap will continue to be dominated by crunk and gangsta rap and the political rappers will still be near underground.

Trance and techno will become slightly more popular.

RNB, Country, Ska, Reggae, Jazz etc. will continue to not get that much attention.
