My sweet husband bought me a DSi XL for Christmas, so I've bought myself Spore and Pokemon HeartGold.

By the way, this is the first time I have had a DS, so any suggestions for games would be muchly appreciated!
what games do you have?
None, except the two I mentioned. I have no idea what are good games for DS - I'm so used to buying PC games :)
Try the first Phoenix Wright, any of the Professor Layton games or the Zelda games. They're a decent bunch. You should be able to find quite cheaply too if you're inclined toward the second hand market.

For Christmas day itself? Nothing.

But after Christmas, I'm expecting to get not only a few Gamestop gift cards, but also a bonus from my work. With that, I think I'll get around to picking up a 3DS, with Ocarina of Time. And maybe Mario 3D.

My old DS Phat from near-launch day is REALLY starting to show it's age. Although, I must say that it's held up surprisingly well considering it's 7 years old.

Take a look at Ghost Trick, Professor Layton, the Ace Attourney series, and Cave Story. There's also a lot of JRPGs like The World Ends With You and Final Fantasy III, if you like those. I'd personally recommend Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon; a proud member of the only turn-based strategy game I've ever actually enjoyed.

It depends on what goes on sale, but I've already bought myself Sid Meier's Pirates! and the entire X-Com series, both thanks to the Christmas sale on Impulse, of all services. Pirates! in particular has been the best $2.49 I've ever spent. I was initially upset when Gamestop bought out Impulse, but they're actually running it in such a way that is rapidly making it my favorite DD platform. They have the same DRM system that Stardock made for the system (read: essentially none), but they also have the clout to actually get games on release day, and to put them on sales that are competitive with the sales on Steam. What's not to love?

The Old Republic was my big self gift.

I'm sure I'll buy some Steam sales games as well as that promotion continues.

Purchased the Kisai 3D unlimted watch, from Tokyo Flash. What a complete waste of money, so I bought Skyrim to compensate for my poor judgement.

I ordered an used copy of Dark Souls and I'm going to buy 1-3 cheap games from the Steam sale. (well, it will end up with more I guess.. Valve, stop taking my money!!!)

I'm really excited to use my Xbox again, played so much PC lately. :D

If boxing day produces a sufficiently amazing deal on a 37-40" LED TV... maybe that. Otherwise... meh.

ummm... I am giving myself the comfort of a clean credit card. I've been trying to work off debt from my study abroad class, and, after a year and a half, my credit card will be clean the day before christmas.

A better graphics card, Gray Matter, everything in my cart on GOG.com, and a couple of Anais Nin books. I get a fair bit of money for Christmas (rather than gifts...because everyone fails at buying me presents) so I usually just indulge in buying a lot of stuff that I wouldn't usually buy.

I'm not getting a paycheck until the 30th... boohoo.

But if I do get something, it'll probably be either new headphones or a better cooling pad for my laptop.

(funny. I never got notification for your response)

My suggestions..

Phoenix Wright series
The world ends with you.
New Super Mario bros.
Professor Layton and Diabolical box
999 (It isn't much of a game, more of a visual novel. But you should give it a try if you find it for a bargain)
Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective

Hope that helped
