In my experience, a lot of "exotic" stuff tends to taste like chicken.
I tried one of those frogs the french get one of their nicknames from, they're pretty nice but almost identical to chicken. Except the bones are smaller and there's less meat. And the restaurant where I ate them charged me a few times the money I'd spend if I simply bought and cooked a chicken -_-
I've tried ostrich once, it didn't seem to have much distinctive taste either.
Exotic food is cool. I'd love to try some seal meat, I hear the inuit up north here in Canada are allowed to hunt and eat them for cultural reasons. I've gotta travel up there and try some of it...
Penguins would be cool too. Fuck, I'm open to anything that's not gonna immediately poison me to death. Even that japanese fugu fish...

Not because I'm against the eating of endangered species. I wish there was a restaurant where you could eat nothing but endangered animals. I mean, how cool would that be? I just don't think pandas look very tasty.
Then again, neither do squids (for different reasons, obviously). And I love me some calamari. So maybe I'd love eating panda.

Its a very lean dark meat. So it tastes like really tough greasy duck when cooked entirely. I traveled a lot and I've tried a lot of weird foods, it was in a arctic cruise somewhere we stopped. But they raise them so it was legal, and very expensive. It was just a tourist gimmick.
The ANARE survival guide I think says that a penguin doesn't taste too much unlike duck, but you can't eat the liver.

What if Dodos are extinct because they're a future delicacy? Say we invented time machines and we went back in time and brought back a Dodo to eat and thought "Wow! This is really good." Then we ended up eating all of them in the future, so we have none today.... think about it.
