That would be up to the content of the RP itself, and how lenient/sadistic the Game Master is.Ashbax said:Aye, I think more people should die In rp's, they just get a tad boring otherwise.
Yeah, that would help separate the serious and the non-serious stuff. And that way, we don't have to put "RP" somewhere in the title, and put that the thread is a serious-roleplay blah blah blah.Zemalac said:Splitting the Forum Games and RPs into two subsections would be a good idea, methinks. Beyond that everything seems to be working fairly well.
I understand. On another forum, you could delete posts in your own RP thread, in case of griefers and OOC/offtopic stuff in a non-OOC thread (I liked to separate the two, so the flow didn't break). What might be good is a sort of "GM Toolkit." Have a panel of tools the GM can use, like the trailer post and the broadcast to players and all the other stuff that has been suggested. That way if you think up a new tool you can just add it to the toolkit. It might take some time to set up and work out all the details, but once it is set up it would be easy to modify.
Does that make any sense?
I ave seen it a few times, I am really not sure what it means. i have figured out Ooc and other terms, but not that one.TikiShades said:Also, what is "trench-coating"? Never heard of that term before.
My character is badass. He has no past, no last name. His first name is 'Bloodrazor'. He weilds a Katana like a practiced legend and wears a trenchcoat. He's deep, dark nad mysterious because I say he is and he speaks in awesome one liners...Shapsters said:I ave seen it a few times, I am really not sure what it means. i have figured out Ooc and other terms, but not that one.TikiShades said:Also, what is "trench-coating"? OHOHO I LOVE WHEN SOMEONE TRENCH-COATS! I like to link the thread to my friends through MSN and laugh maniacally at them. In my old forum, I think we called that "Sephiroth-ing".Ultrajoe said:My character is badass. He has no past, no last name. His first name is 'Bloodrazor'. That's a trenchcoat, a character that has no depth, and tries to use 'Mystery' to excuse his lack of development. Unstoppable in combat, surly and silent. Assholes.
Basically, layering on cliche and 'awesome' to try and excuse horrible writing and a lack of character. Avoid it.
You're a Tiki with shades, we all love you here already.TikiShades said:I could base my RP here. I'm beginning to like this community's RP section.![]()
Bonus points for your correctness. The guy who changed my name way back when might not have been aware of this fact, but I do enjoy the touch of irony that goes along with my name.Ultrajoe said:You're a Tiki with shades, we all love you here already.TikiShades said:I could base my RP here. (I think you might be an easter island head, however)
I don't think anything is happening. Spin told us he was working on this 2 months ago and we haven't heard an update, so I don't know if he never presented these ideas, or if they were just shot down. Spin never said anything.Stealthy Killington I said:As has been said before, splitting the forum games and serious roleplay sections would make everything alot easier. Also, despite the fact that it is in the spoiler tags, the OOC chat still disrupts the flow of the RP itself, so making a whole new OOC section would help to take care of that. As for the lack of player and DM commitment, there's nothing anybody can really do to help with that. If a player is inactive, then they can be kicked, and the title can be editted saying that there is an opening and new characters will be accepted. Reserves also help with that. But if the DM quits on the RP, well there's nothing you can really do about that. Granted, I haven't really been here that long (I'm one of Tiki's aforementioned MSN Buddies and came for his roleplay), so I'm not sure on the details. I could be completely wrong for reasons that I don't really know.
