Half my ancestors would hate me for being English (at least one of them would, being a Sinn Fein member in the 1920s - he's obviously dead now), whilst I think the other half would treat me either with indifference or delight, being poor Russian Jews escaping during Alexander III's pogroms.
In general however, our ancestors would most likely be mystified with us. We know a great deal more about their time periods than they would even be able to dream of ours.
