I think film is the worst form of media by a long shot, as I don't believe, for the most part, 2 hours is enough to tell a good story. Obvious exceptions, but for the most part, no. Especially converting books, t.v. series, manga, visual novels, or games.
So, for any of the above, no. Definitely not...apart from maybe Artemis Fowl. I'd be cool with that.

[small] Damn it Richard, why did you have to chicken out of your believes at the last second?[/small]

Game: Halo. Would be such an awesome movie, as long as the CGI is done right to make the alien look realistic.

Book: Orcs. Would be equally awesome. Action Adventure story with the main charaters as Orcs. Lots of blood and gore and a sex scene.

There are so many things I would like to adapt into other things (Games to movies, games to books, movies to games, books to tv series, etc). Problem is, some of the things I want adapted already have and sucked, while some will never be. And some probably will be but won't be as awesome.

What would you like to adapt into a movie? A favorite book? Game? Anime? Poem? Comic? Would you have it be animated, or live action? Who would you cast? Who would compose the music? Who would direct it? What would it be rated? Please reply with your ideas!
Book: there is a series called Spectre by Pheadrea Weldon, I think the first novel would be a pretty cool movie

Game: Fallout. cause you can take the elements of all the games and craft a unique story to it

Anime: Hey, lets give The Guyver another chance. in the Porn Department a Live action Bible Black would be kinda cool!

Comic: the SPider and the Wolf, it was a promotional Comic for the Battletech Board game, and pretty awesome!

If Holywood could pull off an acceptable Donkey Kong childrens movie my hatred for filmakers who make adaptations old stuff would go down a little bit more.
Or God Hand because God Hand.

With Hollywood searching far and wide for the next youg-adult book series to adapt into a money making franchise, I think it's high time we see an Artemis Fowl movie!
I came into this thread to say this. As long as they get a genuine Irish kid to play him and they don't toy with it too much I can see it working well as a film. I'm struggling to think of someone who fits Butler's description though. Even if it tanked like the Northern Li- I mean 'Golden Compass' did I'd just like to see how it'd work out.

Plus how badly can you screw up a fight between a 7 foot 90 kilogram man tower and a troll?

If it has been said, sorry for repeating. I think though, that with the right cast, directors, and producers, The Night Angel Trilogy could be amazing movies just as they are books.

I'd like to see them make a movie of Baccano!

I mean, the road blocks that are in the way of many other American-made anime adaptations, like race changes, language changes, etc., aren't really in the way of Baccano because it takes place in 1930's America. The characters are supposed to be white, English-speaking Americans anyway. Besides, it was all inspired by American works and events.

So, really, once you get someone to adapt the anime really, really well then you have a really, really good movie on your hands that could be very well-accepted by the general public. I would damn sure go see it.

Actually, it would probably work best if some of the more minor characters such as Eve and Dallas Genoard weren't in it, and if the story focused mostly on Firo's story and the events on the train, and tried to link them together much better. Despite the fact that it's meant to be taken in small chunks, Baccano's story takes a long time to tell and every minute of the anime is crucial, so the movie would definitely require a good bit of story changing.

Still it sounds like a great idea to me!
Dude, I would be satisfied if they continued the series. I felt so sad to see that anime end.

Not really an adaptation of anything specific, but I really want to see a movie or series animated like this:

As bad as the Dragonball movie they made was, I'd like to see them try again with the Z series and do it properly this time.

Jet Li as Vegeta
Stone Cold Steve Austin as Nappa
Tony Jaa as Goku

and so on... Make it dark and with plenty of foul language and mature overtones.
