Hmm, this would be a tough choice. The list of things I would consider would be arrogance, cigarretes, internet trolls, the "whatever sells" mindset of all entertainment industries... The list goes on for a while.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the text in bold a contradiction on your behalf?
Isn't it arrogant to state such a thing?
I can see what you mean, but it's not what I intended. It is just a list after all, but if you weigh all the pros and cons, which isn't arrogance, then it would probally benefit to ban cigarretes. Although some may see this as a breach in freedom, it's just my thoguhts. Generally, when I say arrogance, I mean the extreame cases, like holocaust denials.

MTV and any shows and people associated with that network.
No Jersey Shore, no pregnant teenagers, no spoiled twits bitching about what they want for their birthdays.

Ahh, it brings a tear of joy to my eye just thinking about it.

I think I'd ban the atom bomb (and all other iterations, but atom bomb just has such a ring to it), the other obvious choices are already covered by the law and most things have their place in the world.

Let me correct you, because you're wrong.

Banning cigarettes is not more or less arrogant than banning anything else mentioned in this thread.
That's not my point.
My point is that the person would like to see arrogance and cigarettes banned.
Isn't it arrogant to want something that other people want/do/enjoy banned?
Isn't arrogance when you think you know better than other people?

I agree with your 2nd point though.

EDIT:

Very well.
I will tell you one thing, though - banning cigarettes and/or smoking overall would be devastating to the economy worldwide, and I mean devastating.

I would ban political parties. George Washington was right.
Pretty much this. Also, I'd place a ban on tax breaks for married couples. If you want tax breaks, claim your S.O. (gender doesn't matter in this case) as a dependent.

Wait, isn't there already a thread exactly like this?
Ah well...

I'd ban... I guess I'd ban stupid DRM.

Yeah, DRM that does nothing but hurt the consumer, I'd ban the hell out of that.

Scientology.

Oh wait, you mean my country. Well the problem in my country is that there's TOO much banning.

I'd ban life.
I'd ban death and reproduction. Ok, make that natural death. Make it so that a baby can only be conceived to fill a place of a dead person. Basically keep the population at a steady number

Hmm, one thing I'd want to ban is alcohol. But some alcohol is used for cleaning wounds and such...
Then I'd ban all alcohol that isn't medical.

Not necessarily arrogant, no. That'd depend on their motivation to do so.

If someone were to ban steak and wild mushroom risotto because they think cows are sweet and wild mushrooms are on the brink of extinction, sure, I'd call them a bunch of pricks and then I'd probably look for a corner to curl up in and weep quietly, but I don't see how it would be arrogant.

And just for giggles, look at it from the opposite perspective; wouldn't it be arrogant of you to say that one shouldn't be allowed to ban smoking?
