They have these things called settings. They can be used to tell your computer to not save your history. That's what I, even right now.

Noone checks my history o_o

Besides, incognito ftw. I mean, there's nothing TOO bad, but enough so that I'd never look family square in the eye again.

Nobody looks at my pc cept me anyway :/
This. Also, I love your avatar. ^.^

I mean, I'm the only one who knows the password to my PC, and I'm the only one who uses it (it's my laptop, after all). So really, the only effect it would have would be to slow my computer down as my history took over more and more of my memory.

I don't delete my history as it is. No one else ever looks at my computer, and if they did they wouldn't find anything particularly embarrassing,

Hmm, very tough, I would probably only look at "those" sites on my personal laptop that no one else uses, however if I was desperate and did use my home PC that my family will sometimes use then I would most likely just go to a bunch of different sites so that the "other" history would get buried.

Every weird or embarrassing thing I look up, I can point to at least two or three friends whom I know for a FACT look up the same stuff. I don't usually bother deleting my computer's history for that reason.

Haha, I get nervous when people use my web browser sometimes. Even if I haven't been looking at anything that bad, what happens if you clicked on some weird link that you forgot about?

I remember seeing a demotivational somewhere that said "True friends are ones that will delete your browsing history when you die."
Seems this >

has a new version now!

Your porn buddy won't be clearing out under your mattress, he'll be installing and running CCleaner on all your computers and removing all external hard drives, memory sticks and disc media from your home instead :D

..and as Jeff himself said 'I said removed, not...' :D

Call me paranoid, but yes, I keep a 'guest' PC set up so I don't have to concern myself when someone goes 'oh can I just nip on your machine to check the train times/my emails/the tv listings/etc'. 'By all means, it's over there, well away from MY machine, you can tell which, the guest PC's screen doesn't have windscreen wipers.' (too far?)

No, problem. I only delete it out of convenience. I dislike awkward situations. If someone looked through my history and saw something they didn't like, I'd plant my forehead in their face.

I arrange my settings so it doesn't save any history.

Frequently visited sites get a tab on my navigation bar.

It works for me.

Seems to be a certain generation gap, too, if it's family or older visitors, we want to hide the porn, if it's mates, we're hiding FAR more embarrasing website visits :)

'Hey, what's this inbetween all these links to badgerbuggery.com? a bee gees fansite? hahaa, you like the bee gees!'

That's the kinda thing I'd expect from my mates.

I would use a separate Linux partition that would be wiped and reinstalled after every use. Why? because I am paranoid.

Wait... are you saying I can delete history? Really? Alright, I'll try it. If I succeed, none of you will remember World War 3 and think that all the games based on it are made up of a theoretical war.

Well? Did it work?

lock my pc in my room... already done, problem solved.

It's a little more problematic if I couldn't delete history in Autodesk Maya, I'd be crying then. Construction history screws everything up in that program eventually.
