What Would You Do If You Saw A Ghost?

A simple hypothetical question. Whether you're a skeptic or not, you witness with your own eyes a full-form apparition of a ghost. Suppose you're home alone at night and turn the corner to clearly see someone standing at the end of the hallway looking at you for a few moments before it turns to walk into your bedroom. And when/if you go to look, there's no one there. What would your reaction be?

I don't think I'd even want to look, I think I'd grab the spare key to my care and get the hell out of there, refusing to go back except in the middle of the day with someone with me to help get as much stuff as I can and then get the hell out again.

Turn on every electrical device I can find to distract me. Also Skype, so at least someone will hear what's happening.

Assuming it's not a Japanese-style ghost. Y'know, the ones who mess with technology.

Try to befriend it. I always wanted a ghost as a friend when I was a kid. Getting it to scare the hell out of people on my behalf.

Or maybe it could be some female ghost twins and a lift (à la The Shining, but of legal age) and I could get some Aerosmith stylee 'Love in an elevator.' They'd give me the willies and I'd give them mine.

Play the music of the Spice Girls until they leave or I am taken away by the police.

I think you'd be taken to the loony bin before either of those happened for two reasons.

1: Playing Spice Girls Music.
2: Saying that the reason you were playing the music was to scare a ghost out of your house. :p

I'm superstitious by profession so I don't think I'd really freak out or be too surprised. If there's a ghost in my home and it's not bothering me, I'm OK with that. If I saw the ghost again after the time described in the OP I think I'd wave and try to communicate with it. Ghost > spiders any day.

I'd take a look around, and if I thought it actually was a ghost I'd think, "neat I saw a ghost" then go back doing what I was in the first place. I don't find dead people that scary.

I'd probably just freeze in fear and stare at it until it went away.
And then stay the heck away from whatever room it walked into.

Get a little freaked, but then ask it to leave. Nicely if it's not scaring me. Get angry if it is.

Not terribly uncommon, but it's why I don't live in old buildings. Very happy in my 2.5 year old place, been in it a year and a half. Nothing was here before it was built.

I do work in some of the oldest buildings in my city, though. Ghosts up in the library stacks when I'm shelving are common and there are specific ones in the Legislative Building.

Take photos?

Unless ghosts are immune to photography, taking photographic proof of such a thing would definitely help prove that I'm not insane that ghosts are apparently real.
It might even destroy them, if Fatal Frame is anything to go by.

Given that scenario? Call the police and tell them that I think somebody broke into my house (Because I'm assuming it looks more human than not and a break in is significantly more likely than a ghost sighting). Presuming that they didn't find any evidence of a break in afterwards, I'd work from there and probably dismiss it as me seeing things or being half asleep...and I'd probably buy something I could use as a club in the future. If I saw it again, I'd grab my club and try to follow it. From there I'd try to figure out what the heck was going on and why it was only starting now.

What, really? I'm the only person who actually knows what to do?

Look, if there's something strange in my neighborhood, if there's something weird and it don't look good, if I'm seeing things running through my head. An invisible man sleeping in my bed. If I am all alone I'll pick up the phone and call
Ghostbusters. I ain't afraid of no ghosts. I here it likes the girls. I ain't afraid of no ghost. Yeah Yeah Yeah Yeah.

Ask the ghost to come out again and also if it wants to get kinky (hey, it must have walked into my bedroom for a reason).

Shit bricks.

Then never sleep again. God that's a creepy scenario. I once read this creepypasta in which a ghost was described as a white figure in a running position, which then changed to a standing one, with hands behind its back. I don't know why but the thought of ghosts just...it's creepier than anything.

I'd befriend anything before a ghost that just likes to stare and then leave...that might be what I hate, they just come and go. There's too many questions left unanswered, with a zombie, you know exactly what it is/was and what its intentions are. With a ghost, nothing is obvious.

Hmmm, not sure. It would depend largely on whether I got a feeling of unease or serenity and calmness from it.

Regardless of that answer, I'd probably have a lot of trouble sleeping for an indefinite amount of time.

Like many millennials I'd take out my cellphone and start taking pictures. Obviously this is rare phenomenon that has not been seen before I'd better document it.
Also this manner of thinking is why I think ghosts don't exists because nobodies gotten an Iphone picture of one.
Besides no reason to be scared, not like they've killed anyone before, you'd hear it in the news.

Wait? Seeing ghosts isn't natural. Does that mean being a ghost isn't natural? Or, in other words, does that mean we aren't real?...

I think I'm just going to go into the wall and have an existential crisis...

Trap it's soul in statue pokemon style and use alchemy, witchcraft and engineering to transfer it's soul into a humanoid robot, or a vehicle of some sort.

If it was frightening or aggressive: Run the fuck away very fast.

If not: Try to talk to it. If that didn't work, try writing on a piece of paper and golding it up. If that didn't work, try to take a photo. Oh, and if there were other people around I'd drag them over to make sure I (a) wasn't seeing things and (b) wasn't the only witness.
