It's just a different type of meat. Of course I would never eat cat if I had the choice before hand, I wouldn't really mind trying it. But in my whole 16 years of living, every single day I have been in my house, there has always been a cat there. So of course, I love cats a lot more than, say, a pig.

But just because I would never eat a cat, doesn't mean it is not okay too, other cultures eat cat. In nearly every way it is no different from killing and eating a pig, or a cow or chicken. Just because it is cute and furry, doesn't necessarily mean they can't be eaten, or aren't tasty. For some cultures it is normal.

Wow, I'd be shocked... I'd probably keep eating, considering it's there and already dead and all... but I would try not to eat round there again :D

I'd eat it. Meat is meat and if it's tasty and I'm hungry, why waste it?

According to stuff I read online, cat meat is supposed to be terrable, but vomit, demand an explanitation, stuff like that assuming it wasn't. Also, killing a domesticated cat would be animal abuse, so this goes straight on animal cops

If it tastes nice, I'd keep eating. If it tastes awful, I'd keep eating, but tell my friend I didn't like it.

That's politeness. You know, not shouting swear-words at people, not freaking out and looking crazy in public, not vomiting all over people's kitchens...that sort of thing.

...I sound like a dick saying that don't I. Sorry...

"Huh, I've never tasted cat before. Tastes good." And the next day make my own cat dinner.

I'd probably make a joke:
"It's cat"
"not the neighbours' i hope"
-queue laughter-

I normally cuddle cats, so the idea of eating one is a bit strange. But on the other side of the coin I also regularly cuddle chickens (friends neighbour keeps them as pets), and i'm quite happy to then go nom on some chicken nuggets afterwards.

Lucky for me I'm a vegetarian.

I'd probably be seriously weirded out. Even more so if this cat that's being served would have been a family pet. I'd probably just hope it were some sick joke and try to forget all about it, while really doing my best never to eat there again, ever.

You're at the home of a good friend of yours. Great friend. You love going over to his/her house to hang out. You play video games, watch awesome movies, talk for hours, your friend has a good sense of humor. And your friend is totally normal too. He/she has never done anything really weird before and you have no sense at all that anything unusual will ever take place.

Well, after a round of playing your favorite game, his/her mother says it's time for dinner. You politely offer to leave and let them enjoy their meal. But the mother insists that you stay and you're glad to do so.

You sit down for the meal and there's the usual assortment of vegetables and a meat. You take one bite of the meat and you're unsure what it exactly it is. It's pretty good. It's tender and juicy, in fact, you'd like to know what it is, maybe you could get some more at a store and make your own. So you ask, "What kind of meat is this?"

Without hesitation, just a polite smile, and complete honesty, the mother replies, "It's cat."

You've just been served cat meat by your best friend. What do you do?
Keep eating. I've had dog before, and it didn't matter to me.

Honestly, meat is meat no matter the source, and all of our conceptions on what kind of flesh is taboo is simply based upon what animals we consider pets. You don't think that there's a chance that the lamb you ate for dinner was someone's pet? Or how about that burger you ate at McDonalds? Who's to say that she wasn't called Daisy by the farmer? It's all perspective.

Besides I doubt that the cat would care at that point.

Ask where they got it, and then continue eating.

If they want to fry their cat, and it tastes fine, then it's all good with me.

If its good I'd continue to eat it, I think all the people talking about throwing up are being sissies, unless you personally knew the cat why would you have a problem?

If it's juicy and tender, then it was not a house cat.

OT: Pretend to finish eating. Never stay for dinner again.

First I would be in shock and spit it out if I can (or throw up if I had swallow) regradless if it somehow taste good.
I would ask them which nation or groups had view cats as meat since I know some places in Asia have dog meat and also if the cat actually below to a owner or was it a stray. If they give a logical explainations I would try to be rational otherwise I would most likely to run out and call the authority.
