i would probly set my dog on him as he is big and not always freindly, if that did not work i would then grab my dog and run as fast as i could away from the place he was, at the same time as calling the police.

O.K, I have two swords, an entrenching tool and a walking stick in arm's reach right now (I'm at home in my room). That said if someone was robbing the house my most likely response would be to call the police first and lock myself in my room if none of my housemates were at threat. Even then I'm not inclined to try and hurt the invader, I'd be more inclined to try and talk them out of doing anything that would hurt me or my housemates. I really don't think violence is the right response.
kick him in the nuts, pry the gun out of his hands and pretend that my 2nd personality is a cannibalistic demon that feeds on human flesh.
What i'd do would be easy.
Sneak up behind him with a knife from the kitchen,
(lets be honest here. If your in your house and theres a burgular, your going to go for the actual weapon, not purposly pick up the statue like the kid did, granted thats probally the first thing he saw, but if he had the oppurtunity to get something else i bet it would have been a knife)
and incappacitate him somehow.
i would personelly go for the legs. I dobnt waant him running away before the cops come.
One quick swipe across the back of his calves and he should be out for the count. then i just lean over him and smash him in the face with the butt of the knife, to render him unconscience.an alternative could alwatys be using something heavy to knock him out but if you had the choice between using a kitcghen knife or your laptop to incapacitate someone, your not going to use your laptop, or any other equipment you actually want to keep.

I'd hide in the closet with something heavy and I wouldn't actually confront the robber unless he opened the closet door.
Depending on size of the intruder and if he is armed my plan would change a bit.

Im about 6"4, 200 pounds and have done wrestling for 3 years, 2 years tae-kwon-do, and am now taking brazilian jui-jitsu. So if i got in at all close take him down with wrestling, and then get him in a armbar with bjj and if he keeps strugling break his arm.

wait until he/she is distracted and stealing something, then grab them from behind and drive a knife into him/her repeatedly. hey, you step into my house and try to take my stuff, expect a stabbing
I would give him one warning that I was armed and that I now had the legal right to kill him since he had broken into my house(I live in FL), and would be happy to do so. That is only if the dogs didn't get him first, and he got through all the broken glass and razor blades( I am not joking, I take my personal safety seriously.). If he did not leave, I would shoot him, cause yes, I know where all the blind spots in my house are(Can you tell I am paranoid?).
i am incredibly malicious towards thieves, so i would attack him with a rather nasty pipe that i keep in my room. it is sufficiently heavy to gain good momentum, and it has a sort of sharp edge that could be extremely damaging. i also have a lot of knives in my room that i could use, although why i keep them in my room is a bit of a mystery to me. it's convenient though.

the fact that he is armed does not phase me, since i am almost certain that he does not want to kill me. if he does, he is suddenly in a much worse situation then he was when he was just stealing stuff, so he wants to avoid that situation if at all possible.

Well I have a torch and a short metal pole by my bed for just such an occasion. We had a few burglaries near us earlier in the year and I thought it couldn't hurt to be a little more prepared.
How aboot I tell my flatmate he has the cookies then while he gets stabbed/shot I get behind him and thwunk. But being serious I would properly fight/get killed, I blame video games they make people violent.
