What would you do with a Portal Gun?

This was my thought instantly. The Penny Arcade guys are pure genius sometimes.

Dedicate my life to getting to the moon, then when I get there, put a portal there. Then when I'm back on earth, I charge rediculous sums of money for instant trips to the moon.

OK I have never played that game portal before (shame on me) so I have a question about how the game works...

If you shoot a portal inside a portal does it

a. open a portal on whatever it hits inside the portal
or
b. distort all reality as we know it and land us in some weak sci-fi situation that I can only best describe as The Mist?

It doesn't do anything. The second portal dissolves.
And go play the game man, seriously. You can do the whole game in one sitting and feel more satisfied than you will after most 40 hour games. I feel that the game is basically perfect in accomplishing what it's trying to accomplish.

Plant one in the ceiling, one in the floor, and keep passing through them until i reach light speed, then use the propulsion to travel seconds into the future, creating an anomaly where my body occupies the same space twice cause reality itself to fluctuate and break down.
