I hope she's trying to get justice for what happened to her. She needs to, so that it happens to no one else. No one should be ashamed of being raped. It is a bad event, but it was not her fault. Few people are ashamed about being robbed, and this was, in a way, robbery.

That said, I don't think she should get an abortion unless it threatens her life. There are many people who want to adopt, and many can't adopt simply because there are not enough children.

If she gives it up for adoption, it is important for her to understand why she is giving it up. Not only would she be unable to take care of it, but she would avoid having the child grow up in shame. With adoptive parents, the child can grow up happy.

I highly recommend researching and going to a CARENET provider. A representative from a Texas group called Pregnancy Assistance Center told me about their practices. They try to inform people about the options, including abortion. They are thorough with their explanations, and work with families.

Please have your friend look into finding a place where they discuss these things thoroughly. Heck, I'll even do the research for her, just say the word.

Don't think that it would be wrong to accept my offer to help research her options. I'll gladly do it.

What do you say?

I would say at least carry the child to term; and then put the child up for adoption if she does not wish to keep it. There are lots of people out there who are children of rape who've grown up to become great people.

I think she should have it aborted, if she doesn't want it. I know she could carry it up to term and have it adopted, but then she'd have to find a proper family for the child to be adopted by and hope that they would cover the hospital bills as well as any loss of work she might suffer.

That is, assuming, she isn't lying about it. She could have broken her abstinence pledge and gone and got laid because he lady parts were itching for action, forgot to use a condom and then blamed it on a date-rape drug thing. Not saying she did, but, in the words of Dr. House, everyone lies.

It would be cinder to have an abortion.
Every time she looks at that child she will be reminded of how she was raped.
Now explain how she could truly love that child.
