What would YOU do?

Right, I've been wanting to try this one for a while, so here we go. I've seen a lot of "There is vs 100 superhuman warriors from the future" type threads around, and I wanted to try one of my own, but just a little different.

Here is the situation :
You get a warning from the radio telling you that a 747 filled with passengers is headed directly towards the Hoover/Boulder Dam in northern Colorado ,due to a hijacking by terrorists, a 9/11 situation if you will. If it hits the Dam, it will destroy everything in its path, causing incalculable damage and loss of life. You also have the option of shooting it down, but then you will have to face the consequences of the loss of nearly 600 people, and the criminal impacts of that ,as well as the moral implications. The other option is open to you. You have access to anything in America's disposal,be that military or whatever else, bearing in mind that the plane will hit in less than 90 minutes. It is completely your decision on what happens. What would you do?

That's long enough to scramble a couple of jets and force the plane down before reaching the supposed target.

How do you force a plane down if the pilots have every intention of dying anyway? There are no threats you can use.

I'd shoot the plane down, and try to live with the consequences, hopefully secure in the knowledge that my actions would have saved more lives than I ended. I'm reasonably sure history would absolve me.

Mile high breach and clear from sky diving super soldiers. That would make for an awesome sequence in a game actually.

I am sure the military have some secret laser they could use to kill the terrorists from outside the plane, then its just a matter of saving the plane and peoples lives safely. Hmm, remote controlled robots who over-ride the planes controls. And land the plane in the body of water by the dam. Yup, that's what I am going for. I think big.

I would muster a series of choppers and one big net and fish up the plane, my idea is fantastic and obviously has no major flaws.

Well thats easy - Get a few fighter jets to form around it, hammer automatic weapons fire through the windows and cockpit, then contact the plane via Radio and instruct a passenger on how to fly the plane. Provided you didnt accidentally kill everyone.

Then I'd use excessive violence to solve the problem somehow.

...Or I would freak out from the situation and kill myself..
