What would you expect from Duke Nukem Forever if it finally gets released?

I mean, it has been in development for about 12 years now and just got canceled? IF it finally gets released sometime in the future, what would it have to have to make up for the huge wait?


I really hope this isn't a repeat thread, I used the search bar to check, didn't see anything, so please don't flip out if it is.

I would expect God's gift to gamers, and nothing less than that. Seriously anything short of perfection would be an epic fail after all this time.

Things that are good. Think the open-world of Oblivion in a blender with the graphics of Crysis, the bad-assery of Mercenaries, and the sheer idea-awesomeness of that 256-player game on the PS3 I can't get. Roar.

But it should probably be around that.

Well, if the game ever get's released and 3D realm stops beating around the bush.

Let's follow the sci-fi shooter rules:
1. It must feature a rather non-evil looking alien race as the antagonists.
2. It must have a gun that doesn't shoot bullets.
3. It must have at least one poorly-done vehicle section.
4. It must have a protagonist with a crew-cut and no voice.
5. It must puzzles of some sort.

Well considering its been in twelve years worth of development, I'm going to say there won't be anything still in it since the beginning of development. But it should be one of the best game ever, twelve years is still twelve years. I hope its like what Yahtzee said though...

I have a friend in the industry that saw some of the leaked footage (almost an hour's worth of gameplay) and he said it looked awesome. Just the same as the original was - hectic action.

I think Take-Two will really make 3D Realms finish it. Take-Two sued them two weeks ago since they paid 12 million dollars for Infogrames to acquire publishing rights. But 3D Realms never got the 12 million since it was just an agreement. So I think Take-Two could fund their project. Or instead theyll just publish another GTA game.
