You've just named the one series I actually like. I loved Ratchet and Clank until it went a bit odd with the gladiator one, but it was buy a PS3 for just that game, or get a 360 for more games. If I could have any exclusive moved to 360, it would be Ratchet and Clank, and maybe Jak and dexter. I also agree, games could do with looking at Ratchet and Clank and learning you can have a carefree game with a serious storyline.

For new tech added to games, VR is the way to go. That would sell project natal for me, the ability to play things like fallout and know that your physical actions actually did something like turing on project purity. Car games are very good and well, actually steering the wheel etc, but all Natal is doing is removing the fake wheel from the equation. I want to be shooting without any plastic thing reminding me, I'm still in the real world.

As am I.

Though I wouldn't mind proper motion control with properly weighted controllers and physical feedback.

How about the ability to change the entire gameplay of a game so a game can be a first person type game like CS or third person like FFXII or turn based like FFX or maybe liked FFTA. That way you can play the game as whatever you want. And maybe a game with ACTUAL choice. Not liek Fable where it doesn't change anything significant but like, if you are evil you don't try and save your mother but instead you join forces with the bd guy and all along the way you have options to work with veil guy, betray evil guy, become good guy or whatever. True choice. And like 10 playthroughs cause the story would have so many possible endings.
I like it! Imagine free-running up to the top of the empire estate building, then assassinating someone with a sniper, and parachuting down onto a motorbike and having a high-speed chase to the nearest safe-house!
And then against the final boss(or bosses) you could change to turn based stuff so that you don't end up getting your butt handed to you cause they keep hitting you so you can't attack (kinda like being attacked by 50 tanks in prototype while trying to run up a building).

Yup, that's about my sentiments, too. A story revolving around the tits is nice, but it's not necessary.

Saints row three,'nuff said.

On a longer note: I would want something with a hybrid Frostbite/source engine physics engine. Just imagine the fun.

Full virtual reality.

Red Dwarf did an episode where they had games that work on mind probes...I want that game...

Imagine doing that in WW2, But then not actually dying. You've got all of the action, Probably a lot of the fear, but none of the pain & death.

That my friend, is the FUTURE.

Realistic but cool acrobatics

Well-developed, interesting, and surprising characters (with accents that go with their backstories, agreed) and plot

Consistent realism: if it wants to be realistic, I want everything to be realistic, and if it doesn't it should embrace that

Subtlety

Humor appropriate to the genre

It all boils down to this: It Must Be Fun.

I'd like Natal to have a minigame where you kick kittens through feild Goals. That, or for my game to brcome realality.
And this.
Um, which part? The Natal part, or the other option?

Remember the eye toy boxing? well similar things. Like the Wii, except with a camera.
(I don't know if this project Natal thing is going to be like that or whatever but I still haven't been bothered to find out what it is)

EDIT: Actually, COMPLETELY explorable maps. That would be insane.
