How about the ability to change the entire gameplay of a game so a game can be a first person type game like CS or third person like FFXII or turn based like FFX or maybe liked FFTA. That way you can play the game as whatever you want. And maybe a game with ACTUAL choice. Not liek Fable where it doesn't change anything significant but like, if you are evil you don't try and save your mother but instead you join forces with the bd guy and all along the way you have options to work with veil guy, betray evil guy, become good guy or whatever. True choice. And like 10 playthroughs cause the story would have so many possible endings.
first, a game that tries to do way to much like your suggesting normally ends up being mediocre in all its attempts. I think a game should only do what it does best and specialize in that one thing. And this also applies to your second point, (normally) action-adventure games are a medium of storytelling, even games such as Fable or other choice based games. The problem with this is that the when a developers encoorporates more branching storylines, you tend to sacrifice quality for quantity. I would rather have one, solid experience, then the chance of reaching a less that satisfactory one.

Flight is one of the most exhilirating and downright fun things in life. So why isn't there more of it in games? Which is why I'm waiting for Dark Void to come out...

Also, I'd like to see some MMO's give you more fun tools at the start of the game, mounts/abilities-wise. Grinding is boring if you don't have a dragon to fly you to every single dire rat...

Absolutely right my good (wo?)man. But mypoint was that i want that but still with the quality and depth to every aspect as each aspect would have if there were only one of each (one storyline, one fighting style etc)

Less violence more thought or basically an interactive chick lit book.

I would like some playfulness to return to games. That's what I loved about the Ratchet & Clank games and about Saint's Row 1 and 2.
