Better spells, for one.

Also, assassination attempts or something to spice up life.

Also, a tent, so you can sleep anywhere!

1: Midas Magic fixes that (OB mod).
2: Tribunal fixes that (MW expansion).
3: What? You already can! In ALL the TES games!

what i dont want is the stupid leveling system in elderscroll games. how as you level enemies get better. whats the point in leveling at all. i think the fallout system is best where the game is divided into zones and the enemies scale to your level when you enter the zone. that way the game is always challenging but there is still a reason to level cause as you level the current and previous zones get easier.
That only happens in Oblivion... but yeah, it needs fixing. Badly.

I want more raw content. Just pack in as much stuff half-decent or better, cram it all in and release it.

Morrowind's currency and barter system. Being able to actually sell your 50k items for more than 2500 septims? Yes please.

Also, levitation, jump, and mark/recall. I miss many spells from Morrowind. I realize they had to get rid of levitate because of the city walls system, but that doesn't mean you couldn't still have it and have a skybox around the city that acts like a door, or possible just not be able to fly into the city.

And finally, being able to fly a dragon and have horse combat. Dragons are just awesome, and being able to fight off your mount would be so cool. In Obilivion, it's like, oh no, I'm getting attacked by a wolf, I better get off my horse and shoot it with a bow rather than just shoot it with a bow from here.
Google "Akatosh Mount" ;)

Way more assassination and thief quests and make them harder with complicated puzzles and really just more quests in general

no fast travel unless it was through magic and then since portals and teleport spells are ok but just choosing a place to go on your map feels out of place

a vats style system would be nice since without it ranged weapons and spells felt clunky

- Multiplayer (Sure, a giant game like this needs a beastly server for say... LAN play, but can't be that hard to do. Just place parts of the world serverside, and others clientside)
- Enemies not leveling up with you (Honestly, who didn't instantly get a mod to give enemies certain levels?)
- More voiceactors (Do I even have to explain this one?)
- Better combat mechanics (Quite frankly they should just ask if they could rip off the Dark Messiah combat mechanics and copypaste)
- Better graphics (It's been a while so this one is acceptable)
- Dual-wielding (Two one-handed swords please, can't be that hard to do)
- No psychic guards (and better AI overall)

Those are the ones off the top of my head. Oblivion, once modded, was a fantastic RPG but it still suffered from alot of issues. Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas have both taken numerous steps in the right direction, so my faith in Bethesda's (and Obsidian's, somewhat) development remains. I'm still waiting for that damn LAN capability though.

Like my first point states, it might be bloody tough on a computer to run it, but it ought to be perfectly doable to get a couple of players in the same game as long as you work out what's supposed to be serverside and what's supposed to be clientside. Just imagine Fallout: New Vegas with Hardcore mode, you and your mate camping out in the wasteland, RPing and going through abandoned structures for food and treasure. Nngh, want

Mine:
More of a focus on 3rd person. At least have it playable like it is in New Vegas. First person melee combat is just awful.

A faction system. I was thinking of something like this actually long before New Vegas Nowas announced. It just feels weird that your character can be part of the Dark Brotherhood and the Fighter's Guild and there's no problem. Have the factions interact with and oppose each other on occasion. The isolated feeling just kills it for me.

No copy and pasted caves and ruins. I hated going into any ruin or cave, because they are just slightly different versions of one another over and over.

No "enemies level with you" system. It makes leveling feel so useless. Let there be areas with elite enemies and areas with grunts.

Give combat more "weight" and threat. You get hit with a sword or shot with an arrow, you're not going to keep trucking forward. You're gonna stagger or maybe even fall. Combat in Oblivion looks silly, with players just slashing endlessly or shooting arrow after arrow that have little effect (except for random winces from foes). Make this true for the player and for enemies. Give that shield some real use. I should feel absolutely sure I'm ready for a fight, and not just running in with no feeling of threat. And bows shoot arrows, not toothpicks. Up the damage some.

A more informative map. When I scroll over the city in the map, show me if I have a safehouse there, what shops the town has, and what factions are there (or at least the ones I've discovered).

More sorting options in menus. This applies especially for quests and spells. Have quests sortable by faction. Even better for spells would be an option to let us dump spells that are now useless (that healing spell I started off the game with isn't doing me much help except adding to the clutter).

Please, please, please change how conversation is done. I hate the zoom in on the face thing Bethesda seems to be in love with. It is dull and awkward. Let's have characters walk and talk. Or do anything and talk. Every time you talk to someone in Oblivion, it's as if the person you initiate conversation with says "OK, I'm going to really have to stop what I'm doing and concentrate hard so I can tell you where the Inn is"

Horse combat! Just for fun. I want a jousting minigame.

More skills. I'm getting tired of the same ones shuffled around (maybe a fourth specialization besides combat, steath, and magic, but I have no idea what that would be).

Everything else has been repeated so many times it feels repetitive to say it. I will anyway: fix levelling, bring back Morrowind spells, more voice actors.

As much customisation for consoles as for computers.

Hey, since we're listing unlikely things...

I'd like to see more sidequests and books you can read. I'd also like to see more characters you can interact with and a more balanced leveling system, one where the monsters don't become so powerful (borrowing the perk system from fallout would work great here, so would vats mode actually). Also I'd like to see both vampire and werewolf classes return in the 5th installation.

The problem that I had with Oblivion when comparing it to Morrowind was that Oblivion just wasn't as epic a game.

I'll add a list of a few things that I'd like to see including a reference:

- Enormous gameworld (Morrowind)

Like Goldeneye to the console FPSes or Civilisation to the turn based RTSes.
Oblivion's world was actually bigger in size than Morrowind
i've always heard this but morrowind seemed so much more massive considering if u diddnt know the silt strider paths u had to hoof it and the varied world made it seem like u were actualy traveling a distance.. not just through the same damn woods

Better quests and not so much scaling. God damnit, if I am a level 57 wizard, master of all that is in the world, I don't want to have trouble fighting a mountain lion.

add a bit of Gothic features into it such as:

-More control over the world, I liked how in Gothic 3 you could side with Orcs or humans but it really felt different depending on which side you pick.

-Citizens react more to your actions like if you just hold out their sword at them, have you get catious, and guards tell you to put it away, gives a bit more immersion.

and thats really it.

Different leveling system. In order to not get raped, I put the skills I didn't use as my leveling skills.
Also, better spells, and it was extremely hard to level up spells from day one. I was underpowered all the time.

How about NOT having TES5 altogether, hmm?

I swear the developers only know how to show off the features because when you finally buy the game and play it, it turns out to be a half-assed job of a half-assed job. I blame the trailer for TES4 and it got me hyped endlessly (when I didn't know any better) until I played the fucking game and the more I got into it the more betrayed I felt.
That is some of the worst logic I have ever seen. Just because you don't like Oblivion means the series should die? Wow.

OT: A new engine. Gamebyro is ancient at this point.

FUN COMBAT. None of this swinging at someone till they keel over. Feel the impacts, be able to lop off a limb, actual battle marks. I would buy it just for this. The mods I put into Oblivion only helped so much.
Definitely this. It's not satisfying to smash a two handed mace into someone's face and watching them shrugging it off like it's nothing.
