It's turn-based for the 360, made by Sakaguchi. Mostly what you can expect from a JRPG story and char wise, but some great writing and for me good combat.
Bah! Nothing like Vagrant Story then. Mt hope for another decent RPG is again crushed ; ;

You know what I want?
A great political story like Final Fantasy XII. I got sick of every game being about the main character have some deep emotional problem that affected the whole story. Final Fantasy XII was a nice change in direction and since Final Fantasy XIV is an online role playing game that type of story should be more likely.
I'm with ya here, an MMO about being the chosen one (ala age of conan) doesnt work for me. The whole point of MMO is being a smal part of something bigger. Not running around in a group of 6 chosen ones.
I agree with these statements also. Whilst FFXII's story seemed a little convoluted, they tried a number of new ideas both in story and gameplay. For instance; Vaan. Some say there was no point to him. But there WAS!
He was the catalyst of the story. If it wasn't for him, none of the other characters would've met the way they did. He sparked the events of the epic story, and we would watch the story more through the eyes of a commoner than, say, some stupid story about some 18 year-old waking up one morning to find he's the one to save the world, he has a special gift like no other, blah, blah, blah.
Secondly, the combat was innovative and involving. You could actually feel like you were actually controlling the characters rather than watch them stand in line they were preparing to play musical chairs and just telling them what to do.
