Well given how the next Avatar is Earth and the Earth Kingdom/Empire is become the United States of Earth-ica, I'd be intrested in a sort of cold war style thing. Like the next Avatar is an Earth Union spy who discovers that s/he is the Avatar after stealing secrets from the Air State.

That or a comic series to tie up loose ends, like what happened to Kuvira and Batar Jr post-season, or Korra and Asami's adventures in the spirit realm. Something like they did with LaB.

Third is I want to see Bryan and Matthew do a science fiction show.

Pretty much this. As fun as following the Avatar is, I would really like to see them follow some of the other characters in their adventures outisde of the show. For example, Toph establishing the Metalbending Police and trying to establish order in Republic city, or Sokka in the years before he died. There is a lot of potential in the Avatar universe. It is just a shame that Nick cant seem to recognise it.

These, so much these. I would love to see more about these 2 characters, as they were my favorites. I think the potential for more stories in the universe are definitely there, just need someone to do something with it.

One thing comes to mind, I always pondered on having a spinoff to the Avatar series basically taking place in the same universe but focusing on people who aren't the Avatar. Two ideas come to mind:

1: Following a platoon of soldiers from either the Fire Nation (after Ozai's fall) or from Kuvira's army, as they try to still fight the war that their fallen leaders couldn't complete. Basically a rag-tag group running around being hunted by the authorities at large while having conflicts within themselves as to whether the vision they were fed is worth fighting for. There could be some pretty heavy stuff there.

2: Possibly set further along in the future but this time just exploring all the crazy shit you do with bending. I'm picturing like a city in an Earth Empire state that's got that bad side of town and revolves around some underdog types trying to survive on the mean streets. Their all benders but they can't bend that well so they gotta use their abilities in different ways, like one fire bender who can generate heat but can't produce flames so instead he/she fights by heating up surfaces/objects. Or a water bender who can't bend large amounts of liquid so instead bends smaller amounts, but gets creative and bends like small amounts of gasoline or another flammable liquid which she/he sets on fire. Or something along those lines.

Another thing I'd honestly wanna see is just some more brutal bending combat, both AtlA and LoK have that thing where the hits honestly look hard as shit but people usualy shrug em off or just get dazed, the most notorious for me was back in book 3 when that one guy was bending a lava shuriken and smackin white lotus guards with it, I'm sorry but those guards should have been cleaved or at least charred, but NOPE. "Gotta keep that shit PG" blurted Nickelodeon as they told the animation crew to cut out that one scene where Zahir's GF gets her head blown off. So yeah, show much brutal bending will ya, where all those sick water bender ice spear moves aren't used to pin people but to stab through them!

I think the next future Avatar that witness the next harmonic convergence (a thousand years) would be a interesting one since he or she will have one hell of an internal struggle as in Vaatu emerge out of his or her body (well that how I pictured it)!

Granted at that time period they would be futuristic by then so they can probably saved the Avatar well keep the balance in check with science bending!!!

I would like to see something about how benders discover their abilities and how they are trained. Do they go to a special school and if so how does this affect them, since they are being set apart from their friends.

Okay, I know lots of people here probably wouldn't like this, but I'd really like for there to be a Bioware designed game set in the Avatar universe. I think there's lots they could do with it storywise, my only worry would be the combat, but they could totally just improve off of Jade Empire's combat and it'd probably be a solid game.
This right here? I want this. I want this and I hold you responsible for making me want this.
Or better yet, a Telltales take on the Avatar universe..
*sigh* I love how everybody is like "TellTale, do a Firefly game!", "TellTale, do a Avatar game!", "Telltale, do a __________ game", but what do they go and do? Minecraft.

God I would kill for an Avatar Telltale game.

I'd like to see a season 5 of Korra, and THEN a mini series/OVA that's between the two series.

A more modern, maybe even cyberpunkish setting, for starters. Something where technology is advanced and Bending is all but forgotten, so the newest Avatar has to bring it back somehow.

That or maybe a look at the adventures of previous Avatars. Maybe in comic form?

I thought about what would happen a the next harmonic convergence a lot after korra season 2, what strikes me as odd is that Vaatu is the spirit of chaos and darkness which are not necessarily evil traits, and Raava is peace(/balance) and light. taken to extremes this quest for balance could obviously lead to a totally controlled state, where an avatar and a white lotus type government enforces balance upon all those under their control, or for an anarchistic avatar to take the red lotus route and bring down any government that threatens "balance" (this arguably could already be happening in Korra)
as Vaatu is effectively dead, it would be easy for an avatar/world to become consumed in this quest for balance without any elements of randomness or chaos.

So I would like to see an avatar as the ultimate lawful evil villain, while the protagonists must find some way to awaken the latent aspects of Vaatu and chaos within them, so as to break their control or bring freedom from the tyranny of peace.
Their internal struggle would not be slowly being corrupted by Vaatu but having the error of their blind drive for order and potentially the entire avatar cycle slowly dawn on them as they struggle desperately to deny it.

this could take place at harmonic convergence in a far distant future (and futures are basically designed for dystopias of this type) or for the very next avatar once the ramifications of Vaatu being destroyed/purified are realized.

it would set the stakes very high as the primary antagonist would not only be unbelievably powerful but could even use the avatar state as the ultimate blackmail. "kill me now and the entire avatar cycle ends"

Not that they will but if they ever do another Avatar I would want it to be in the past

We had 10000 years of avatars we know almost nothing about.

I wouldn't want to see a "modern" Avatar. It is hard to have a fantasy vibe when everyone has a microwave

I want to see this tieing of spirit energy and technology go somewhere.
We have a spirit portal smack bang in the middle of the most technologically advanced city in the world now. That has to lead to some more weird spritual science.
What about spirits that willingly power machines? It might be a new renewable energy source, but suddenly you have to be nice to your car and a good person or the spirit ditches you.

Anything. I'd like to see anything. Honestly I love the world they have built and the ideas of it, bending is one of the most fun magic systems I've seen and the asian influences are really wonderful. All I'd like is for it to continue to exist.

Since that's pretty unlikely though, I would just like Bryke to make something new. The art style they've created is probably one of my favorite in recent memory.

Or better yet, a Telltales take on the Avatar universe. Mainly a story driven game where each choice you make will certainly carry weight. Do you want the Earth Kingdom to have a new king, or become a republic with congressmen? That game i'd pay full price.

Although the $15 Legend of Korra game is actually REALLY good to my surprise. Check it out when you can.

OT: I'd like to see an Earth Bending Avatar too. Probably be really something if they went into the Avatar state and used a mountain to fall over an army or something. Besides that, I think OP has a great point. How WAS the world back then after Wan passed on? I want to see that bit of history. The time line between Wan and Aang.
Probably very chaotic as so many groups were competing for territory expansion and resources.

Everyone would see the Avatar as a threat and it would take a couple of generations until they would respect the Avatar system and probably establish it as a checks and balances between nations.

I would like to see the Romance of the Three Kingdoms version of Avatar. Imagine the next Avatar being the child of Former Prince Wu and heir to the rump state set up around Ba Sing Se that still recognizes his lineage. The Avatar comes of age learning from others what her father was like at her age (around early adulthood) despite the fact that he's (probably) a respected statesman now. Then the separate states of the Earth Federation start a devastating internecine war not too far from our World War I (look at the size of the Earth Kingdom, its enormous!).

Like others I would like to see a cunning and intelligent Avatar, so imagine this Avatar watching haplessly as the Earth Federation tears itself apart. She isn't interested in becoming Kuvira II but as the bodies mount and atrocities escalate, the people of the Earth Federation turn to her in desperation. As the Avatar and as the descendant of the last Prince of the Earth Kingdom, she might be the only one with the legitimacy to stop the fighting and reunite the Earth Federation. Aang was a diplomat and Korra was a warrior, those were roles that fit their times. This Avatar has to be a statesman and general, the first good and competent Earth Monarch that we see on screen, while remembering why the Earth Kingdom fell and why Kuvira still scares the beejuzus out of so many people.

For extra make-everyone-really-uncomfortable-points, her right hand man is the son of Kuvira herself while her adviser is a descendant of Azula. Throw in Deska's child as her personal champion and Varric and Zhu Li's child as the resident gadgeteering genius and you have yourself a new and rather darker Team Avatar.

Nothing. The series should have ended with ATLA. When a series is constantly milked for sequels it does nothing but devalue what was originally good about it by piling on more and more crap until hardly anyone can remember that there was something to love about it in the first place.

One of the reasons I loved Avatar: The Last Airbender so much was that it told it's story and then ended. It was perfectly executed and stopped before it wore out it's welcome. Then Korra came along and took a big dump in the pool and the series is forever tainted.
