What would you say if someone calls you a nerd because you play video games?

Say thank you and then ignore them entirely, as they obviously have no idea of what they are talking about. Therefore, their opinion of the matter if I'm a nerd or not is invalid.
Now if someone came to me and called me a nerd based on entirely other (more accurate) factors, I'd still thank them. Because if others choose to call me a nerd or not does not make a difference to me. I do not define who and what I am based on others opinions.

normally i would agree with them. it isnt really an insult if its true. if it was based on on what type of game or console then i would get pissed of. i always used to get called a nerd cause i play pc games. the people calling me a nerd spent about 40 hours each weekend playing xbox, and they thought they could call ME a nerd!? in that case i just used to look at them for a few seconds then shake my head and walk off.
I think some people on this site must live in a strange society, pretty much everyone I have met (well, the guys at least) play/played computer games, regardless of what their other interests were. Playstations and Xbox's are not uncommon and have not really been considered a "geeky" thing for quite a lot of years.

Yeah, see, nerd girls can be hot. And as far as us guys go, and girls as well, I just tell the person that is 'dissing' us that without 'nerds', there would be no TV, no video games, no cinema, very little worthwhile reading material, no dishwasher or washing machine, no computer, no internet, no DVD player, no cars, no sex robots, no microwave, etc...

Although people who call you a nerd because you play videogames are usually very narrow-minded. They pigeon-hole everyone and their corresponding pass-times. I have friends who never play videogames, simply because of the image it portrays...who cares about the image!? Do whats fun, right?
