What would you say to a Half Life MMO

The more I think about it, the more it fits. The huge wait for episode 3, the statements against future episodic content, and isolated single player experiences.

IMHO the Half-Life/Portal universe is a BRILLIANT setting for an MMO, possibly the only one with a following large enough to take on WoW. An E3 announcement like this would be an early Christmas for me.

There would, however, have to be major changes to the franchise to make something like this work. How would you feel if Gordon put his crowbar down, and let us take a chance at being a hero of the revolution?

That's one of the most disgusting ideas I've ever heard of.
The last thing Half-life should be is an MMO.
It's a story-driven world. As WoW has so effectively displayed an MMO is as conducive to a story as AIDs is to a healthy sex life.

It is one of the most, if not THE most, moronic universes to put an MMO in.

No, no, no, no, no, no, no.

The world would fit in an MMO as well as an elephant would fit into a one ounce cup... with C4 in it.

The combination would kill them both and cause an unholy mess.

Not really.

Valve is too quality driven. You can't give a universe an MMO when all the other games are so variable and different.

Granted, the world is great, it has some potential, but I think they could pull it off with something better.

I would say "fleeble boofsquaffle" because it really doesn't matter what I would say to it because the very existence of a Half-Life MMO would be impossible.

The Half-Life/Portal universe is far from being a good target from being an MMO. The universe just wouldn't work if you start introducing your traditional MMO elements of "go here and collect ten bear asses", unique equipment, level grinding and so on.

There have been stupider games made but not by Valve... I'm not their biggest fan but I know for a fact they aren't that insane.

I also think Blizzard would mock them some more. Semi-related topic I've been thinking of, does anyone think the Starcraft 2 map Left 2 Die is a bit of a jab at Valve for taking DOTA?
