Same goes for Mass Effect 2, but maybe we can cross our fingers and hope that he'll find things in which it has made improvements over the already wonderful first game. Besides, that's Yahtzee's job: he's paid to review games. Saying things good about something usually isn't very funny and he had to struggle with self-deprecating humor when confessing that he found nothing wrong with Portal. I'm almost positive the Portal review is a one-time thing. As he said, fanboys/fangirls know what they love and they don't want anyone saying anything bad about it but we need someone to come down on our interests sometimes to remind us that nothing is perfect, there is someone out there that is going to find the stain on the perfect piece of art and the gold nugget hidden in a piece of shit. He probably won't like Mass Effect 2, but is that so terrible? Are we to hate is as well because he found problems in it? I'm sure it has flaws and there are areas that are annoying/unsatisfactory in it, but it made us happy, got us involved in a really good story, and was overall a satisfactory game. For me, that's enough and we should not worry too much about those that find faults. I'm guessing we want our game to be respected by someone like Yahtzee because he has a public voice that is often heard, a popular show that several people mindlessly draw their conclusions from (i'm not going to say that I don't fall into that category at times), and we like the idea of someone so critical finding good things to say about that one game we think deserves praise. It still deserves praise even if Yahtzee picks it apart like he always does. We'd say that he sold out/broke down/is losing his touch if he starts reviewing games in a purely promotional way anyway. It's like the Justicar said: when you get three humans in a room there will be six different opinions. That's the way it should be and we shouldn't get discouraged that someone whose critiquing we enjoy so much won't take it easy on such a overall beloved game.mr.aravaro said:
