I hate the Australian weather, it's too damn hot.
I hate the New Zealand weather, it's too damn cold.

Also, our politicians are, for the most part, utterly imbecilic.

I'm in Canada, where we are supposedly 'better' than America and we value our natural beauty.
Yet we still condone some really appalling environmental policies and we still produce a massive amount of garbage and pollution. Just because America is often worse, with slightly bigger, scarier numbers, that doesn't excuse us. Canadians are so incredibly stuck up.
We have a fucking leaf on our flag; you'd think we'd value nature a little more!

Canada's government is very, very slow. There are benefits to this, so I'm not too pissed.

Hmmm... probably our M-game laws. Can't buy one until you're 17. It's not even debated, just accepted. But the moment some state tries it, the entire gaming community get together and fight for freedom and shit.

For a 5000+ post count, I'd think you'd have better typing. Seriously, punctuation bro. Use it.

OT: Thought of another thing I don't like about Canada: It's too fucking huge.

American, totally agree with the politician hate. Not looking forward to my older years at the rate things are going right now.

Personally I hate the guilt that is placed on Americans for their nationality. Americans are just way more likely to air their dirty laundry than other countries so we look a lot worse. In Japan for instance, the reason that there are no murders is that some police officers just put things down as accidents when they clearly are not.

There are a lot of things I don't like about the US but I don't think that should mean that I need to feel responsible for other people's behavior.

The other day I was thinking about my home country Australia, and then I was thinking about what I really hate about it. Personally I really hate the politics here, the politicians spend all there time either talking about why they're good or why their opponent is shit and never get anything done.

So Escapists, what country are you from? And what don't you like about your country?
I'm American and I hate that so many people here think it's the only country on the planet. I also hate that everyone else hates us.
this pretty much this. oh and i hate lobbyists i mean WTF do they actually do besides make things harder?

I don't really hate much about my country. The government is stupid sometimes but fair and I don't see much of the racism and stuff everyone else complains about. I just happy we haven't started any wars and have cool wildlife.

America, I seriously wonder if moving to Canada some day is a viable option for me. I mean job-wise I want to be a game designer, places like Montreal and Toronto seem to be hot spots for indies, but is it a realistic to think that a kid from the middle of nowhere can make it? Ah, what was the topic again? Oh yeah, America, damn right-wing politicians and such...

Sweden.

Anything that has to do with politics really but mostly Immigration
The policy seems to be one more couldn't hurt, right? Anyone not granted stay here and it's f***ing brought up in media.

I don't consider it news when we occasionally say: Sorry, half of your country is already staying here and you are known to have terrorist connections, please go home.

The reason it's news? His damn wife and son was let in 2 years ago.

While on the subject, the news media is a goddamn joke. /angry rant

I thought Australia and New Zealand were fairly close, geologically. How can their climates be that different?
There is a small puddle of water that is only about 1600km (1000miles) between both nations. New Zealand is also closer to the South Pole, is a smaller landmass, and is away from places like the Coral Sea where the warm waters which help heat up parts of Australia.

AND that is the simple answer to it, since I'm sure someone will give the more detailed version of things.

As to my own country, I hate the idiots who unquestionaly take the crap they hear on the news (more so talk back radio) as nothing but the truth. Then again, it might be the fact that I simply hate Alan Jones which is clouding my view on that.

I hate Americans who hate America, as opposed to loving their country but hating the direction it's heading and the people who are driving it there. Instead of complaining, go out and try to change something!

The epic level of knee-jerk reactions among the people, and the fact that our politicians' resolve tends to buckle under those reactions like tinfoil under a cannonball impact. Most prominent one of recent times would be the ratified plan to scrap all nuclear power plants after the disaster in Japan. Our country's situated in a geologically stable region, for God's sake!!!
