The other day I was thinking about my home country Australia, and then I was thinking about what I really hate about it. Personally I really hate the politics here, the politicians spend all there time either talking about why they're good or why their opponent is shit and never get anything done.
It's exactly the same over the ditch, nit-picky personality politics and crazy ideological legislation.

Culture, that is after Second half of 20th century. (screw our own culture and literature, let's copy American comics and movies!)
Language, that is after Second half of 20th century. (screw our old proverbs and thinkers, let's use jargon!)
Cuisine, that is after Second half of 20th century. (screw our rich cuisine that is mixture of European / Middle Eastern / Asian, let's all eat fast food!)
People, that is after Second half of 20th century. (herp derp let's copy Americans because globalization is awesome!)

Hey guys, I think I see a pattern!

Ireland- The corruption, the Church and that particularly obnoxious kind of party-politics where people vote for somebody because it's a family tradition.

Hungary- The nationalism, the general mean-spiritedness of the populace, the anti-Semitism, the facial hair.. Most things. Good food and forests, though.

I hate how most of the world sees the small collection of backwards-ass hillbilly racists we have and assume we're all THAT stupid.

Belgium. We haven't had a government for over a year and we're doing just fine...

Britain, Wales to be precise.

Welsh nationalism and jingoism really grind my gears though. Welsh news channels go bananas with their jingoism and almost ejaculate whenever they mention a Welsh "achievement" - which in reality no-one cares about.

I suppose another thing that bugs me about the Welsh is that it's a nation of Hillbillies. The people here spend a good portion of their day spitting, gossiping and being racist toward the English. Oh, the alarming lack of manners and good etiquette are positively endemic here.

Plus there's the in-breeding - it's disgusting. While you don't find that in Cardiff, out in the valleys - it's like Deliverance out there.

While England may have it's own rude chavvy types, they aren't nearly as inbred as Welsh chavs.

Well I hate the UK so much I'm planning on moving to Canada in about 2 years.

The things I hate are as follows: the snobbishness of the upper class, the chavs of the lower class, the rude people, the dickhead hipsters...
The dull and depressing weather, the architecture (I find British towns generally look quite depressing and run-down, lacking any charm whatsoever).
The accents (brummies, scousers, cockneys, all awful accents).

I could go on but, yeah, I really hate this country.
Can't wait to move to Canada.

Brummy accent, chavs, the entire conservative and libdem parties and all their leaders, Nick Griffin, some place names, e.g. Garstang, Hull, Stoke-on-Trent, etc. Despite, this, the only countries I'd consider moving to are Australia, Canada and maybe Portugal.

I'm American. A lot of Americans have this ideology of the proud, strong individualist, but what this means in practice is a bunch of weak, disorganized people who can't work together to fight for their own interests. They become ineffectual pawns of corporations and religions.

Canada here, the only thing i dislike is the fact 75% of the english-Canadian people (and almost 100% of everybody else)i speak to seems to think all Quebecers are hell-bent on leaving, so i guess the "racism" (langism ? francophobia anyways) against french-Canadians (no, we're not french, we're french-Canadians) I love my country and i love my province, they aren't mutually exclusive.

As an american I despise the general feeling of entitlement and the lack of a proper work ethic to be greatly annoying. America was built on hardwork and seems brought down by the lack of it nowadays. People also seem to be more apt to blame others for their own misfortune. Take responsibility for once...

Good Lord, a better question would be what I do like. Well, let's see, a comparatively short&sweet version of what sucks about Serbia:
- We're some 20 years behind, mentally, from the rest of the world (probably more in some aspects). The newer generations are a little better, but frankly not even they're there and a good portion of them is just as backward as the older generations. I'm talking everything from racism, religious, sexual and just about any other type of intolerance you can think of (hi xenophobia), technophobia, paranoia etc.
- Our government is shit. It's a constant cycle of corruption, laziness and utter incompetence and I don't see it changing any time soon - I'm talking multiple decades, possibly more or even never. Frankly, I wouldn't be at all surprised if we stayed the same bunch of morons until something like EU devouring Europe into one federation state or something similar happens.
- Economy is laughable. Apart from the basic roof over your head and maybe the standard bills, everything's more expensive (yes, even food, so not even basic living expenses are a non-issue), while the wages are well below most minimums (average wage around here is 300 euros/month). On top of that a lot of people are working under the table (for a shitty wage, to boot) because unemployment is high and most people don't have any other options.
- People are jackasses. This kinda ties in with the whole backward mentality thing. Don't get me wrong, I know a lot of wonderful people around here, I love them all a lot and I indeed know there's a good bit of other good people out there. But the amount of intolerant assholes, extreme nationalists, hooligans, gangs and just plain stupid people is way above most sane people's tolerance threshold.

I could go on, but frankly I don't want to put off people too much. Don't get me wrong, the country's not all shit, we have some great things, some fantastic people, some of the brightest minds, but the country in itself is the issue - if all that could be somewhere else, I imagine most normal people around here would be better for it, even if some/most wouldn't admit it.
