Since I've become rather tired of the run-of-the-mill shooters and action games I've gone back to play more RPG's. I actually wondered why I ever left them in the first place?

Anyways, since wishes are free I was wondering what everyone here would want to see in a video game. Your limited to 5 things you'd like to see done.

I'll start off with...

An RPG
- Deep Story
- Character Customization
- 4 Player Local Co-op (or Co-op in general)
- Big Game World
- Fleshed out characters

I'd haven't seen an RPG like this and I'm honestly considering making one.

Oh, cool idea for a thread. It really does seem like most new games are the same brown and grey first person shooter.

Your RPG sounds awesome, except for the Co-op. I can't imagine co-op working well in an RPG.

As for my dream game, an action RPG:

-Fun, yet deep combat system which isn't turn based, but isn't hack n slash either.
-Weapons and armor changes visible on your character. For some reason, I absolutely love that!
-An amazing story with loads of plot twists. Can't get enough of those.
-Interesting characters. I'm tired of the same old emo kid with an anime hair and the hardened, silent ex mercenary.
-New game+. Nothing adds replay value like new game+.

Secret of Mana did Co-op RPG and it did it well.
for RPG's

-I like skills I can level (besides character level)
-an actual use for all the money you'll get from grinding enemies.
-a wide range of monsters since I don't want to kill boars at level 40
-New Game+ is a great feature especially after you invest 100+ hours into a character (or any feature that makes replaying the RPG actually fun.

MMO...RPG? Aside from those there's been a bunch of co-op RPGs that worked fine.

This should be in every game! It's maybe not so important in open-world style games like Fallout/Oblivion, but in "JRPG" style things there is no reason not to have it.

I like to see customizable clothes in Fighters, third person, and suprisingly, strategy games (See: Dark Crusade)

Although usually they completely fuck it up with stats that are always higher on shit equipment. I have to trade out my death treaders because the stats are better in every area on this pink stilletos.

I'd love for virtual reality to be possible, specifically with regards to RPGs. Since, one might argue, the primary purpose of fantasy/rpg games is to create an opportunity for escapism, virtual reality is the logical conclusion.

Damn, I forgot about New Game+!!!
It really should be a feature in every game along the RPG lines. Really increases re-playability to no end.

EDIT:

This as well. It sort of defeats the point in playing a game when you can't have fun becasue of its players.

For an RPG?

- Its gotta tell a story, and tell it well.
- Its gotta be a journey - i dont want to return home after everything i do keep the new places coming!
- LOTS of reccuring characters with developing personalities and relationships
- Loads of minigames, less side quests. Id rather grind money/items/whatever by having fun than doing the things ive just been doing some more. But they have to present a challenge still ofcourse
- SOUNDTRACK THAT KICKS ASS.

The last point may be the most important
