Every one has a dream about themselves in the future.
A dream where you are exactly what you wanted to be.

Though harsh reality soon kicks in and we realize that most of us will only get to experience those wishes through their dreams. And settle down to become something else.

For me, it might be a little odd. I'm currently almost done with my degree in biochemistry and genetics.
This might seem like a pretty big thing, but my one true dream will probably never come true.
Being a voice actor.
Sounds silly right, almost a well paid career as a scientist, perhaps even getting a PhD. along the line, and I dream of talking into a mic for cartoon and video games.

So what is your future and dream future.
And if you're one of those lucky few that gives to live out their dreams, congratulations!

I would like to work at an animation studio, preferably with Disney or Pixar. What will I do? Hopefully just that. I dunno, I am not the sole decider of my fate, but at the same time I know I am the only one who can decide when I quit trying to get where I want to be.

In an ideal world I would love to own a bookshop.

One of the one's with a spiral circle and opens at weird hours. (L-space access optional)

However more then likely I will become an English and History teacher, and move to Canada.

I've always wanted to be a university lecturer (apart from when I was three or four and I wanted to be a unicorn).
I'm starting a Masters in September and my PhD will follow but realistically the field is pretty competitive and at the moment becoming a unicorn seems more likely. I'm probably going to have to settle into a research job for the foreseeable future, unless I get really lucky.

For the longest time I had no idea what I wanted to do. I'm content for my dream to be successful in whatever endeavour I have. I want to become something big in whatever I do. Seeing as my degree choice for uni is Economics, that'll be a good place to start. I'll be taking german as a secondary subject and hopefully spending one of my years in Germany, so by the time I graduate I'll have options abroad as well as at home, increasing my horizons professionally.

I would like to be able to draw properly.
I can't draw for shit. If I had the ability to draw I would have make comics ages ago.
Or portraits, in a steam-punk theme.

Well, I'm starting my bachelor in Robotics in septembre. Thinking about adding astronomy next year if possible.
My dream goal would be working with/for ESA (Screw NASA, the US need to get their priorities right first. Less war funding now, sooner space war later on!). If I get something I built shot into space I have reached my life goal.

I'm a head chef right now. This is amazing given the number of people who in my apprenticeship said I would never make it. However I worked my butt off and prooved them wrong. So you could say that 'I am doing what I want to do and I've done what I want to do about it'. Of course it's not my restaurant. That's the next step...

The only thing other than this that means as much to me would be to wite a book and get it published. I have always wanted to be an author. During my apprenticship that dream was somewhat extinguished until I read Anthony Bourdains Kitchen Confidential. Now I wanna cook an write!

I always wanted to be an astronaut... but I've just been too lazy to hold up the rigorous physical fitness (I'm not crazy out of shape or anything, just not even close to military standards).

So instead I became and engineer and went into the same field from an opposite angle (being Scotty instead of Sulu!) And have since found myself a company which has the policy of "you work on it you fly in it" as a truly awesome method of quality control. So it looks like I have a sporting chance of getting there after all.

I've always wanted to be a professional athlete but the pro athletes are just too freaky for me despite me being a very good athlete. So I get to be an Intel officer in the military which was my main backup plan.

Sounds incredibly cheesy, but I've always wanted to change the world or leave my mark on it in some. I'm still figuring out how to do it.

But dude:

Giving up like that will certainly never make you a voice-actor! Get together with a friend to make an animation on YouTube, write a script with them, and become a voice-actor that way.

Maybe your dream is to be a voice-actor in a big budget film or something. But we all have to start somewhere, start small. Do voice-acting outside of your PhD time (good luck with that one, I know how much time PhDs take up), in your free time. It's never too late to start to follow your dreams buddy :)

Well, youtube videos is a great start of course.
But the main issue is, I'm not a native English speaker. And while I don't have that much of a accent anything bigger then a local production will probably require native American speakers.

But I will get my voice out there, some day.

I would like to eventually become a lecturer in behavioral ecology or evolutionary theory. Going back to college next year to start working on the long list of qualifications.
Realistically, the best case scenario involves me working for the national wildlife service. I still want at least an Msc.
It would be great to end up as a Richard Dawkins/Gerald Durrell hybrid.

A good voice actor can do many voices and accents, if you can authenticate a British or American English accent then great. In fact, because your coming from a fairly unique position, being a non-native English speaker, it could work to your advantage.

On topic: I would want to be a published author of sci-fi and fantasy novels. I do creative writing as a past time, may be able to get something hopefully published in my life-time. However, i don't intend to make a career out of it.

I would liove to be an inventor.
I have so many ideas for creations that could help humanity.

Sadly, I'm horrible at math, and because of how my mind works. I bet that the blueprints for these inventions would be undecipherable to anyone besides myself.

If I had a magic genie lamp, this would be the first thing I would wish for. I suck at drawing but thankfully my wife is quite the expert. What we want to do is start our own graphic novel and turn them into a series. After she finishes art school first. I'll do the writing and she'll handle all the pretty stuff.

Pretty much what we want to do is what we're going to do, but I'm also shopping around my second Young adult novel (first one tanked with no agents interested in picking it up) So we will see
