I think all that dialog got in the way of the core of the game. I'd like to see a Dragon Age that focused more on the key elements of what the game is about and not so much boring whining and rambling.

You know what pisses me off?

Leliana joins your party appearing to be a dagger wielding rogue, but all her stats are in archery. I feel bad for the sucker who falls for Bioware's trap and uses her as a non-archer.
You get her early enough that you can alter it if you want, she's best as an archer, but she can go both ways. (ba-dum-tish)
Which is good because I found that her bard specialization wasn't well suited for archery, it benefited melee combat more, especially since the bard could get right in the heat of the action and unleash a captivating song. (There's no part of that sentence that didn't sound completely nerdy.)

Hmm, describing all that makes me know what I want to see in DA2. The vast amount of choices you can make for developing your party, I hope they return. I loved crunching the numbers and planning the various builds and figuring out how to get the most out of each party member.

At least 2 more classes, or multiclass. 3 are too little. I don't need something like 10+ but a little more would be nice

Better combat, cleaner graphics (played the 360 version), and maybe a little facial changes within the main cahracter. instead of the "I'm board" look on your warden in DA:O. Other than that I'm happy with what I'm seeing so far.

EDIT: And how could I forget the better archery, course once I just specialized in arcery it was better. Also maybe easier, not super easy mind you just to where I can actually play on hard mode with out dying every ten minutes.

Well, the different story structure looks interesting, and it seems we won't be saving the world, which is also quite refreshing.

They seem to have kept the good bits from Origins, and mixed it with newer concepts, so hopefully it should all work quite well. My initial concern was that they were just ditching the old-school RPG thing all together.
this.

as long as its not a shallow game all together im sure ill be happy, i just hope they really put some detailed effort forth on this game, and not make it even more "streamlined" (not saying less is bad, but alot of companies make it that way)

Still managed to beat Nightmare rather handily, though.
Nightmare ay? Obviously the game was made easier on a console ;) *

*Disclaimer: I know that they're the same.
Actually, the difficulty was scaled down on the console as compared to the PC, partly due to the lack of the tactical view.

I honestly don't know!

Everything I would have wanted seems to be in - a more stylised graphic style, faster combat, intriguing characters (rather than the standard 'nice guy', 'cold *****', 'psycho' etc) and heaps of gore.

I can't wait for my copy to arrive!

A good game.

Seriously, I despise the first one with a passion, only if Dragon Age 2 gets a decent review from Yahtzee would I ever consider buying it.
From Yahtzee? A guy known for not being a reviewer? It's your choice on how you choose to buy a game, but the guy has admited that he gets paid to rag on games.

On topic. just better archery, I have seen a video were Flemeth was dominated by a group of archers but it is still purdy weak.

I just wished they had kept my charchter as the main and not this new guy, I spent days making my guy, now he is gone and I have to play as Morgan Freeman's more manly brother

More defined and varies classes, specifically between the Rouge and Warrior, I played DA:O about 5 times through, and when I played as a Rouge I often felt like a Warrior with less armor and weaker weapons.

Also, the secondary/specialized classes weren't very deep, mosty boiling down to having one support skill and one activated or sustained skill that was useful in certain situations.

I would like the game to be less about combat, and more about your choices, moral and tactical, through the story. Origins has nothing but superficial choices that often have no effect on how hard a fight is (why do boss battles change based on whos side i choose). they should remove the repetitive dungeon crawling aspect, and make batles important, and more dynamic of diffrent situations. Origins felt too balanced, there was no way to get your self in a situation where you were totally screwed (like stabbing the king at the start of the game.

Fun combat.
I quite liked the combat but then again perhaps it just didn't work on a console. Did you play on PC or console?
Console player here!

It's still very tactical, about the only thing you can't do is order units to move around when paused, you can only change targets, making them move to another. You can't just say, stand back here, away from my Firestorm! Actions can still be queued up to be unleashed all at once after unpausing.

Still managed to beat Nightmare rather handily, though.

Actually they AREn't the same. The console version is on the books as being easier. Because you can't control your players that well, encounters in it were made easier.

Um, the game didn't really show numbers for things, how did you crunch them exactly?

I was just about to post that what I really want to see is spell effects with numeric values in them. Like, telling me how much damage something does before I get the 4 or 5 levels of prerequisites for it.

I'd like to see better balancing of skills and spells in general. The fact the strongest party was Max Wizards was sorta silly.

Oh fair enough. :)

Anyway, the game is going to have a demo now as EA have officially announced.

Apparently, completing it will give you access to a special weapon for the full game too. (Source: http://bit.ly/ebDLrQ )

Anyone tempted?

Only thing I kind of miss is being able to make your own character but I'm sure I'll get over it.
I don't understand why people keep saying this, you can make your own character in Dragon Age 2! Its been said by the developers quite a few times and even Bethany and Carver (brother and sister) will look like you based on your skin colour and what face template you used.
Just because they're using a 'default' Hawke in the trailers doesn't mean you can't make your own character.

No, you are playing their character. The dialogue wheel is back, meaning you have little control over what you say. You also have a set backstory. You are playing Commander Hawke.

If I can make my own character where is the option to play as an elf/dwarf? I never said it was a gamebreaking issue, I did say that I'll miss it tho.
