Whatever happened to Dizzy?

I figure enough time has passed for a few people to have beaten the Gears of War 3 campaign. That in mind, I have a question. Does the 3rd game give any indication as to what happened to Dizzy, the rig driver from the 2nd game? Try to keep other spoilers to a minimum, please.

They didn't give any indication as to what Dizzy did between Gears 2 and 3, that's what the books are for.

Dizzy is alive at the end of Gears 3.

Dizzy is alive. They didn't explain what happened with him and Skorge, but he appears later in the campaign of 3.

I was expecting a different Dizzy. I'm not sure if that makes me feel old, or not up to date with gaming trends.

Dizzy got away in gears 2 when Tai or whatever that guy was fought the Locust warrior.

When Skorge attacked the grindlift, Tai Kaliso held him off for enough time for Dizzy to get the heck out of dodge. He managed to make his way back to Jacinto in time for the evac with his two daughters. He's still alive in Gears 3, located at Anvil Gate with Vic Hoffman. That shouldn't be too spoilerific for you. Dizzy also gets a lot of back story and character development in the books, becoming almost one of the protagonists.

Read the book. It basically tells what happened to him between Gears 2 & 3.
I know the comics talked about Tai, but I don't know if they talked about Dizzy.
I won't spoil the books though. Read them. Karin Travis is amazing like that

It's a little amusing that you ask about the (supposedly) canonical past fate of a game character, but expect the explaination to be void of information that may be essential to understand said previously unconveyed fate.

I believe Dizzy is sitting at a table with Commander Keen and Jill of the Jungle discussing why people don't talk about them anymore. I feel old too.

In one of the books--Jacinto's Remnant I believe--it explains that Dizzy was able to escape from Skorge thanks to Tai. He even asks, after hooking back up with Delta, where Tai is so he can buy him a drink. I just ran into him in Gears 3.
What becomes of Dizzy by the end of the game, I don't know. I haven't beaten it yet. I'm sure there are some posts on this topic though that can fill you in.
