I'm not fully converted yet, but I'm easing up a bit on fighting games. I used to say all of them except Smash. Bros were overly complicated and pretty much just button mashers. I still think they're overly complicated sometimes, but after playing a couple of Capcom VS. games I'm finally starting to get the hang of how combo's are performed. I have fun when playing against the computer, but as soon as I go online it reminds me of why I used to hate these so much.
I still think they need better tutorials that actively explains how to perform combos and what certain things mean or do. And a note to FAQ writers: When you're trying to appeal to beginners you NEED to go into more detail about what some of this stuff means. It's not enough to simply tell us what the abbreviation of QCF is, you need to tell us exactly what that means to do on the controller. It seems like a no-brainer to a lot of you, but to newcomers this stuff is hieroglyphics.
So thank you Tatsunoko vs. Capcom for actually showing a picture of it. You could still use to be more specific at times. I'm still not 100% sure what the '1' symbol is for in some of these combo listings, and I had no idea I was supposed to press two attack buttons at once for Hyper Combos. Normally when you want me to press two buttons at once you show me something like 'L+M'
so why would I think 'QFC, Attack Attack' means to press two buttons at once? I was tapping them separately for ages until I finally found a good website for newbs.
