I suggest "The Guild: Gold edition" If your looking for a game that is the equivalent of a Tycoon/RPG/Political(The fun kind with assassination, affairs, and creating evil rumors)/ Strategy game. It took me a good 2 years after buy this games to stop playing it and even now I still go back to it.

Oh and giant citizen Kubto is a witty and funny adventure game that is all round brilliant. It has some ass part in it but still its still worth it.

Ok, so what's a better one than that?
So after looking at the front page of the rpg section for gog, just about every thing there. Kind of depends on what you want really, for story its going to be Planescape if your looking for some thing a little more dungeon crawlerly Icewind Dale, for the do any thing sandbox go for the Fall Out games, for generaly good soild all round games go for Baldurs gate 1/2. I'd even recommend Arcanum over NWN.. and i didn't finish Arcanum due to the horrible game play and only kept plugging as far as I did because of the story (which started to go south so I gave up on the game).

Depends what you?re after.
Temple of Elemental Evil if you want the truest D&D rules.
Baldur?s gate and Icewind Dale are more fighting based.
Neverwinder Nights if you like finding your own modules online.
Planescape Torment, the most forgiving and very story based. You can play very close to a true pacifist if you wish but you can fight as much as you like.
That?s the D&D games anyway.

Others I would recoment.
Master of Orion 1+2
Might and magic 6 pack
The Fallouts
Outcast
Arcanum

There are a few free games you can get to such as Beneath the Steel Sky if you haven?t already taken advantage.

The Official campiagn? yes. Hordes of the Underdark, a lot of community modules and multiplayer is why one should buy NWN.

Looking through the GoG library, there's a whole lot of titles.

I've taken an interest in maybe getting Neverwinter Nights, Fallout Tactics, or maybe Baldur's gate.
As someone looking for a decent Action/ RPG, what would be a good title to grab?
Far Cry, it looks absolutely great and plays as if it was made last year. Very good game in my book.
I'd get it, but I don't know if my laptop can handle it. I also have it for the XBox
Try this to see if you can! http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/cyri/

You should be able to run it, but if you have it on the xbox you may not want to bother...
The XBOX version is completely different from the PC version. And the PC version is better in my opinion.
Oh? Can I ask what's different? Only ever played the PC version...
They both follow the same basic story premise. (Jack's paid by a woman to go to a bunch of tropical islands, and not long after she leaves, he's attacked by mercenaries and makes contact with a man named Doyle. Mutants eventually break out.)

The PC version is quite a bit longer and a bit harder if I recall correctly.

Level design is completely different, though there some very loose similarities.

There's a difference in gameplay, in Instincts; Jack is injected with the mutant serum which unlocks multiple super human abilites, which is a nice feature. Whereas in the PC version you're a vulnerable sheet of paper all the way through.

Weapons are also different.

There's probably some other differences, but I don't recall, it's been a long time since I played the XBOX version.

Personally I'd go for the Fallout games and the Duke games. And pick up NwN. That game's multiplayer is awesome :D

Icewind Dale
I've already got Fallout 2; and Icewind Dale and Planescape seem to be highly recommended.
What can you tell me about those two?
I only really know alot about Planescape as thats the only RPG mentioned that I still play today. Planescape Torment is a DnD based RPG set in the Planes introduced in some version of DnD at some point.
It is darkly funny, increadably well scripted and well acted. The compainions you gain throughout your adventures are so interesting that every other RPG I can think of wilts thanks to it (although Mass Effect/ Dragon Age may beat it for depth).

For $10 it is a steal. Buy it now.

Well, Icewind Dale is tough. VERY tough. To get very far in it you have to be a master at min/maxing 2nd edition characters. If you like that sort of thing, it's an impressive game. If you are not as good at min/maxing then you are likely to get frustrated.

Planescape on the other hand is one of the deepest games ever published. It has a incredible story, excellent characters with personalities, and some very touching moments. However, there is a lot of dialog. And I mean a LOT. So if you are not into reading, then maybe it would not be a game for you.

I heard The Witcher and Dragon Age: Origins were pretty nice. I just wish I had a good computer to play The Witcher, or Dragon Age, or that I had a PS3 to play Dragon Age on. I haven't seen much because I don't wanna spoil it for myself, but Dragon Age honestly looks like it's set in the Medieval times, which is my absolute favorite time period.
Are either of those on GoG? I don't think so. Got any suggestions from there?
Uhhh. I think I probably misread. I read you asking for Action/RPG in general. :s I'm sorry. D: I don't know what GoG means. :/

Try Baldur's Gate.

If you happen to have Baldur's Gate II, you can use the EasyTUTU application that will allow you to play Baldur's Gate I with the engine, kits and other fancy things of Baldur's Gate II.

Couple that with a shitload of TUTU-based mods, like added banter and dialogues, and the game becomes... well...

As good as Baldur's Gate II, really.

Which is immensely good.

In fact, good sir, I strongly urge you to get Baldur's Gate.
