You know that moment where you finally get to play a highly talked about game and all you can think is 'No this can't be the unmissable, 10/10 game that everyone has been talking about. I hope i'm playing the wrong game.' Well, what's your worst one. Once again, mine is Gears of War. Although it was a while ago, F.E.A.R. was pretty god damn dissapointing as well.

Xenogears.

What everyone else appears to have played is a game so philosophically and emotionally deep it will send you directly to nirvana, do not pass go, do not collect £200.

What I played was badly written Evangelion fanfiction, with no sense of dramatic pacing, multiple gamey elements like bosses for the sake of bosses, and consistent obfuscation in place of actual development.

I have a feeling that the former lot are just people who can't live without some kind of justification for how they wank over Elly at night.

Crackdown, people tout it as better than GTA IV? Seriously? It feels childish, unfinished and sloppy. The story is hackneyed, the styling and characters are awfully clichéd and the targeting system is beyond horrible (yeah thanks, give me a live action game with essentially a turn based targeting system).

Good god people what were you thinking.

Uh-oh, this could get ugly fast. Super Mario Galaxy for me, but I mostly just prefer the little plumber in 2-D.

'Didn't you just make a thread bitching about Gears of War?'

Yes, yes i did.

'Uh-oh, this could get ugly fast.'

True, then again i think people should be able to say what games dissapointed them. I mean why should we have to pretend that we liked a game even if we didn't.

Army of Two. I'm not sure there was that much hype about it, but i thought it would be good and was let down

Gears of War. Skate 2 also, but I don't really think that was a highly talked about game.

I'm not trying to be a jerk, but they do make a quote button for a reason. Makes it alot easier to see who you're talking to.

To be honest, before I knew that bethesda had made Fallout 3, and Oblivion, when I got Oblivion and played it, I said to myself, "Holy shit, this is the same fucking game!"
But I liked it.
And then later I found the words "Bethesda Softworks" on the game cover...
I am so retarded...

I would have to go with FF7. It's so bad that it rivals barbie horse adventure.
This. As a jRPG fan I was recommended this game by everyone who has ever recommended me a game.I caved in to these demands and when I sat down to play this game, I. Hated. Every. Second. The characters were unlikeable [/understatement], plot cliched and painfully over the top in execution, the presentation was ugly (I'm talking art style not graphics) and the battles I find to be the worst attempt ever at mixing real time and turn based together.

This too, except I found it too similar to the 2-D games (I prefer 64 and Sunshine) but much easier, much more linear and lacking any charm.

Half Life 2

(HE SAID IT AGAIN SLAY THE HERETIC)

No seriously it's a cool game I like some of the setting ideas and the aliens and Alyx Vance but seriously it is hardly the greatest contribution to the human race. It's just as overhyped if not more so than Halo so I don't see how it still gets such praise whereas Halo is scorned for it.

Please don't come after me with your torches and pitchforks and try to burn me at the stake. I have a right to an opinion.
