Mine would probably be Gears of war, I just really disliked the game and all of my mates who have an xbox are/were in love with it. That or bioshock. IMO both were terrible games that get far too much praise.
Hmm, interesting... do you mind if I ask which JRPG's you really like? I'm not trying to troll, much as I love FF7 I know it's really not for everyone. Which JRPG's do you consider to not have a clichéd plot? I acknowledge FF7's plot is pretty over the top, but I think it has enough intricacy and interest to raise it well above most of its rivals.saikanoto said:

And many, many other games from this awful generation. I'm just glad that Steam does a good job in including indie games that aren't horrible. Like most mainstream titles.

Aside from a couple of boss battles, that was THE single most tedious game I have ever played. Everything was a chore: the overworld, the minigames, the bonuses. I get the humor but I think the joke was on us.

halo 2 and 3 i loved one it was somewhat original but yeah not after it, and also WoW it was as grindy as any other mmo i played just with uglier characters, i figured why pay for what i can get free on a ragnarok private server >.> (though now im on valkyrie the only free server in ragnarok but its full of bots but there i go ranting) the point of my rant is, many many popular games are over-rated
Sticking most on topic, definitely Halo 3, my friends wouldn't shut up about it, and when i played it none of it seemed true.
Galactic Civilizations II. I'm still puzzled by this. People whose opinions I trust insist it's a good game - hell, everyone says it's a good game - because it's so deep and complex and so on. When I play it, I think "...so what else is there to do?"

MotorStorm. Everyone says it's so good, and it gets good ratings, and a sequel and all that jazz. I got it with my PS3. The first bad omen about the game was that the package was broken (A huge part of the top is partially broken off.)

Cool, finally got to use that line. Ive never even played Half Life so dont take this seriously.
Anyway, the only time I can think of was when I played Fallout 3 for the first time and realised that is just Oblivion with guns but that just makes sense.
